  1. I used to bake cheese bread and other goodies and bring them over to him and his wife. I won't be doing that anymore! Kids shouldn't get rewarded if the job isn't done right!
  2. Good idea, but, that won't work, he wouldn't pay it I meant to say our dog was by our "OTHER" neighbors house not the neighbor who won't give us my keys back. May just have to tell him we are changing the locks, even though we won't/we just had them changed or get my hon's keys duplicated, I don't know. I do know that I am ragged off!!
  3. Ok, so my 2 friends from high school flew from Omaha Nebraska to California to see us. We told our neighbors son that we would pay him to stay and take care of our pets. When we came home, the pets had no water or food, the house was a complete mess-(after a 4 hour trip back home, I had to clean the house!)-and a dog of ours was missing! When my hon called him to ask him about our dog that was missing, he said "the last time he saw him he was upstairs by our other dog", then he said, "well did you check outdoors or in the garage?" Our dogs can't even get in the garage and why would we check outdoors if the last time he saw him, he was upstairs with our other dog!" I was so mad that I screamed while my hon was talking to him on the phone, "he isn't going to get one penny from us!" So I called our dog's name when I was in our back yard and my hon went out in front and found him by our others neighbors step. They had a light on and we have a wall and gate around our house so he couldn't of gotten inside the wall or gate. This isn't the first time he has gotten loose when our neighbors son has watched them! They caught him in our others neighbors yard the first time! We let the first time go and gave him another chance! He gave the keys to his dad who lives 2 houses from us and now since we won't pay his son, he won't give us my keys to the house back! Now, do we just let it go and just get my hon's keys duplicated or what? I don't want to call the cops on him, they have more important things to do. AR you may have to be my lawyer because I am about ready to throw dog s-t at his house!
  4. Hmmm...your wife may not think so:) You are a lawyer so she may be too afraid to divorce you...joking...When I tell my man that I am going out to get the mail, he always says "if you aren't back in 2 hours: I will send the dogs out to look for you:) Isn't love grand:)
  5. Husband: My wife is missing. She went shopping yesterday and has not come home... Sergeant at Police Station: What is her height? Husband: Gee, I'm not sure. A little over five-feet tall. Sergeant: Weight? Husband: Don't know. Not slim, not really fat. Sergeant: Color of eyes? Husband: Sort of brown I think. Never really noticed. Sergeant: Color of hair? Husband: Changes a couple times a year. Maybe dark brown now. I can’t remember. Sergeant: What was she wearing? Husband: Could have been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don't know exactly. Sergeant: What kind of car did she go in? Husband: She went in my truck. Sergeant: What kind of truck was it? Husband: A 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch 4X4 with eco-boost 5.0L V8 engine special ordered with manual transmission and climate controlled air conditioning. It has a custom matching white cover for the bed, which has a matching aftermarket bed liner. Custom leather 6-way seats and "Bubba" floor mats. Trail-ring package with gold hitch and special wiring hook-ups. DVD with full GPS navigation, satellite radio receiver, 23-channel CB radio, six cup holders, a USB port, and four power outlets. I added special alloy wheels and off-road Michelins. It has custom running boards and indirect wheel well lighting. At this point the husband started choking up..... Sergeant: Don't worry buddy. We'll find your truck.
  6. Crispy Cheese & Bacon Potatoes: 1/2 lb. Bacon 3 Extra Large Russet Potatoes, Peeled & Chopped Into 1/2"-3/4" Pieces, About 6 Cups 1 Tsp. Kosher Salt 3/4 Tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper 1-1/2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Or Mexican-Blend Shredded Cheese 3 Green Onions, Sliced Thin Cook The Bacon: Spread the bacon strips out across a large rimmed baking sheet pan and place on the middle rack of a COLD oven. Set the temperature to 400 degrees. Set a timer for 16 minutes and check the bacon. Remove it from the oven when it is as crisp or crunchy as you like. Cook The Potatoes: While the bacon is cooking, peel and chop the potatoes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. There should be 2-3 tablespoons of bacon grease left on the tray. If there is more than that, drain off a bit. Put the potatoes on the tray and toss with tongs to thoroughly coat them in the bacon grease. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread the potatoes out in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes; stir well and bake an additional 20 minutes. Stir again, making sure that none of the potatoes are sticking to the tray. Bake another 18 minutes. Chop the bacon into small pieces. Remove the potatoes from the oven, stir again and sprinkle generously with shredded cheese and chopped bacon. Return the tray to the oven and bake an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Top with sliced green onions just before serving.

    Oh well

The field goal kicker didn't help any! If he would of made the field goals, it would of been a win! Hope he practices, because he was lousy!
  8. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry to scream 'prejudice' these days................ A customer asked, "In what aisle can I find the Polish sausage?" The clerk asks, "Are you Polish?" The guy, clearly offended, says, "Yes I am. But let me ask you something. If I had asked for Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian?... Or if I had asked for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a Taco, would you ask if I was Mexican? Or if I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish?" The clerk says, "No, I probably wouldn't." The guy says, "Well then, because I asked for Polish sausage, why did you ask me if I'm Polish?" The clerk replied, "Because you're in Ace Hardware."

Add the shrimp and the green onion and return to the oven for 10 more minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked through.
  10. Crab Cakes are one of my favorite appetizers to order when going out to eat. I am going to have to make this. Crab Cakes With Remoulade Sauce: 1 T. Olive Oil, Plus More For Frying 1/2 Medium Yellow Onion, Minced 2 Tsp. Old Bay Seasoning 1 Garlic Clove, Minced 1 lb. Jumbo Lump Crab Meat 3 T. Mayonnaise 2 T. Minced Fresh Parsley 2 Tsp. Dijon Mustard 1 Tsp. Kosher Salt 1/4 Tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper 2 Slices Bread, Crusts Removed, Toasted & Chopped Into Tiny Pieces 1 Large Egg, Lightly Beaten Zest Of One Lemon Remoulade Sauce: 1/3 Cup Mayonnaise 1 T. Ketchup 1 T. Capers, Chopped 1 T. Sweet Pickle Relish 2 Tsp. Dijon Mustard Juice Of 1/2 Lemon Kosher Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper Heat the Olive Oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions until translucent and tender, 3-5 minutes. Add Old Bay Seasoning and garlic and saute 1 minute longer. Let cool completely. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, parsley, mustard, salt, pepper, bread, egg, lemon zest and sauteed onions. Scoop the crab mixture using a 1/3-cup measure and form cakes-(they may be slightly loose; see note on bottom. Transfer to a baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon Olive Oil over medium-high heat. Cook the crab cakes in batches, adding more oil if needed, until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Serve atop salad greens with a drizzle of Remoulade Sauce. ***These crab cakes are loose to maintain the crab flavor. They will not be as tightly packed as other crab cakes and may fall apart a bit, but, they taste awesome! You can also use a ring mold to pack them more tightly. Remoulade Sauce: Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, capers, relish, mustard and lemon juice in a medium bowl until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.

  15. Jay and I went to San Diego to see the Cardinals play 3 games with the San Diego Padres. The Cardinals lost the first 2 games and won the last game. We sat by 2 very nice gals and we are going to stay in touch. We sure had alot of laughs with them. We also became friends with a woman who worked there, she checked tickets by where we were sitting, etc. She was very nice to us too and we are going to stay in touch also. An attorney got us the tickets, him and his wife were in New York and the seats were right behind first base. It was so nice for him to get us tickets and he gave them to us free:) Nice to know that there are still very nice people in this world:) I am a lot like my dad was, I can talk to anyone, boy did we have alot of fun. We walked from the hotel to the stadium for the first game. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriot and the people who worked there said it was only a 12 minute walk, boy were they ever wrong! It was more like a half hour to an hour. After that experience, Jay had found a phone number that you could call and a ride would pick you up and take you to your hotel. It only took them 2 minutes or so to pick us up and they were alot cheaper than taking a cab! Jay figured out in advance where the Cardinals would be staying at and he called to get a room there for us to stay but, the price they charged was ridiculous so we stayed at the Courtyard Marriot. It was a very nice hotel we stayed at and the staff was great! After the ball games, we went to the hotel where the Cardinals were staying at and we went to the bar at that hotel. Like I said, I am like my dad and I can talk to anyone and we became friends with the bartender. I called him number 1 bartender, it is a very long story on how I came up with that name for him. While we were there at the bar, Johnny Peralta and John Lackey were there from the Cardinals. Johnny plays short stop and John is a pitcher. Lance Lynn, another pitcher for the Cardinals was standing right by John Lackey and someone asked him for his autograph and he said "no, not at the hotel. I didn't see it happen, but, Jay saw it. So here I go up to John and got his autograph and I didn't even look at Lance Lynn. To be honest, I didn't even know he was standing right there. I hope it made him eat his words a little since he turned down a fan who wanted his autograph and I didn't even bother to ask him:) Ok, now to get to Johnny Peralta:) He is a true sweetheart. He let Jay take a picture of us together and I got his autograph:) He put his arm around me while Jay took the picture, now that made me smile big time:) I talked to him twice on two different occasions while we were there,. Once was at the bar and another time, it was after a game. What I told him after the game, made him laugh, he thought it was funny what I said, or maybe, he just thought I was just plain wierd:) He sure looks alot different then he does on tv and on the big screen they have at the game. He is smaller than I thought he was and he is very nice. Below is a picture of Johnny and I/Stadium

  20. This is going on the menu too sometime during the football season. Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Bites: One of the keys to this chicken being incredible is making sure the chicken itself is good and seasoned before wrapping the bacon around it. Ingredients: 2-3 lbs. Boneless, Skinless, Chicken Breasts Or Chicken Tenders 1-(16-oz.)-Pkg. Sliced Bacon, Thick Cut Or Regular 2/3 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar 2 T. Chili Powder 1 Tsp. Salt 1/2 Tsp. Black Pepper 1/4-1/2 Tsp. Dried Oregano 1/4-1/2 Tsp. Thyme 1/4-1/2 Tsp. Garlic Powder 1/8-1/4 Tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Preheat oven to 350 degrees. If you have it, place an uncoated metal cooling rack inside a foil-lined large rimmed baking sheet and lightly coat with cooking spray. If not, line a baking pan or broiling pan with foil and lightly grease with non-stick cooking spray. Cut the chicken breasts into large bite-sized pieces. If using chicken tenders, cut them in half-(you can fold over the chicken tender pieces when wrapping so they'll be thicker). Place the chicken pieces in a medium bowl and toss with the salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, garlic powder and red pepper. Let it hang out while preparing the rest of the ingredients-(you can cover and refrigerate up to a day). In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and chili powder together. Cut the entire slab of bacon into thirds. Wrap each chicken piece with small strip of bacon and holding tightly, dredge them in the brown sugar/chili powder mixture. Place the chicken pieces in a single layer on the baking sheet (or rack set inside the baking sheet). If the bacon isn’t staying put, you can secure with a toothpick. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and the chicken is cooked through. Flip it once if the chicken is laying directly on the baking sheet. Serve immediately.
  21. Just call them ABT'S:) and go get a beer or 40 until the game is over.
  22. Well I guess while the grill will be out, I may as well throw this on too along with a steak. Grilled Cheddar Bacon Twice Baked Potatoes: 4 Large Baking Potatoes... 1/4 Cup Butter 1/3 Cup 10% Cream 2/3 Cup Sour Cream Salt & Pepper, To Taste 1 Cup Grated Cheddar Cheese 4 Bacon Strips Wrap potatoes with aluminum foil. Preheat grill to 400 degrees. Place foil wrapped potatoes on upper grill grate/rack and close lid. Bake the potatoes in the grill for about 75 minutes or until soft when poked with a toothpick. While the potatoes are baking, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on a paper towel and crumble into small pieces. Let the potatoes cool slightly. With a sharp knife, cut the top off each potato. Scoop out the inside of the potato and spoon into a large bowl. Using a fork, or hand mixer, mix the scooped out potato with butter, cream, sour cream, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth. Spoon the mixture into the potato skins. Top with grated cheese and bacon. With the grill still at 400 degrees, place the potatoes directly on grill grates and close lid. Bake on the grill until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 15-20 minutes.
  23. Football season will be here before you know it and I think this recipe is going to have to be on the menu sometime. Atomic Buffalo Turd Jalapeno Poppers: 10 Jalapeno Peppers 10 Bacon Slices, Cut In Half 10 Mini Sausages Or Smokies-(Or 20, If They Are Very Small) 1 Cup Cream Cheese 1 Cup Grated Monterey Jack Cheese 1 Tsp. Chipotle Or Chili Powder 2 Shallots, Minced Slice the jalapenos lengthwise. Using a spoon, remove the seeds and membrane. If using bell peppers, quarter them after they are seeded. Mix the cream cheese, Monterey Jack, chipotle powder and minced shallots. Fill the hollowed out portion of the peppers with the cheese mixture. Place the smokie on top of the cream cheese. Wrap the half slice of bacon around the jalapeno. If the bacon is not staying tightly wrapped, it may be necessary to use a toothpick to hold it in place. Smoke the ABTs in the smoker, set at 225F, for 2-3 hours, or until the bacon is browned. Notes: To Cook On The Grill: Cook on a medium heat grill until the jalapeno is tender and the bacon is browned. Keep the lid covered while cooking. To Cook In The Oven: Bake the ABT's in the oven, set at 425 F, for 20-30 minutes or until the bacon is browned.
  24. Seafood Pasta Salad: 1 Pkg. Uncooked Small Pasta-(Macaroni, Rotini, Small Shells, Etc.) 1 Cup Chopped Fresh Broccoli Florets 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise 1/4 Cup Italian Salad Dressing 2 T. Grated Parmesan Cheese 1-(8-oz.) Or (10-oz.)-Pkg. Add pasta and cook according to package directions for firm pasta-(1 minute pasta al dente, usually 8 to 12 minutes depending on the exact noodle). Drain well and rinse with cold water. Meanwhile, bring 2 quarts water and 1 Tsp. salt to a boil. Fill a medium bowl with cold water and ice. Blanch the broccoli quickly until bright green and tender-crisp, about 3 minutes. Drain and immediately plunge into the ice water to stop the cooking; drain well. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, salad dressing, and Parmesan Cheese. Stir in pasta, tomatoes, bell pepper, and scallions. Carefully fold in crab and stir until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
