  1. No one should expect him to pass up first round money if thats where he gets drafted. Even if his MLB career doesn't pan out, he can always take the money he gets from his signing bonus and go to school with that, so anyone saying he should get an education is right, but its not like hes going to be passing up the chance for an education, that will always be there. Also, he can always come back and play football if he wants. Look at Brandon Weeden for OSU right now.
  2. Even though its just bleacherreport...they have us at #11 for next year. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/568788-college-football-rankings-2011-projecting-next-years-preseason-top-25#page/16. I think we will be somewhere between 8 and 15.
  3. In the 2011 class, according to rivals.com Nebraska has 4- 4 star recruits on the offensive line, and 1- 3 star recruit. In the 2010 class, Nebraska has 2- 4 stars and 1- 3 star on the o-line. In the 2009 class, Nebraska had 0- 4 star recruits and 4-3 stars on the o-line. So yes, based on recruiting rankings and what scouts are saying, this is Nebraska's best offensive line class in recent memory.
  4. Thats a good idea, but again, it comes with leading to possible troublesome situations where a booster could get a recruit to come to their school by paying for their education, and then just paying him while he is in school because its allowed since theyre not on scholarship. Overall, in this world today, we are always going to have people breaking and getting around the rules. The NCAA certainly is not a very well run organization, but even if it was, and had a good set of rules, there would still be situations like this.
  5. Wisconsin will be a very tough game, especially if it is a night game, playing @ Camp Randall under the lights is one of the toughest places to play in the country. Ohio State at home will be really tough. They lose a decent amount on defense, but pretty much return everyone on offense. How much our secondary grows from after the bowl game until that game will be extremely criticial. All the other Big 10 games we should win, and I believe we will win. Iowa loses a lot and only went 7-5 this year. Michigan State is good but really didnt play anyone tough this year besides Wisconsin, and they got them at home early in the year. Michigan has a horrible defense, Penn State will be young and inexperienced again, Minnesota will be an easy W and Northwestern shouldnt be too tough. Overall, while our schedule is tough, its not the murderers row people are making it out to be. Anything less then 9-3 next year and I will be disappointed.
  6. I could see Turner redshirting, I do not see Aaron Green redshirting. With Helu graduating we really only have 1 experienced running back and I think AG could become our number 2.
  7. i agree with some of your points but how many yards a pop was Rex getting while running the Wild Cat. Hell, OU's secondary was more scared of his passing threat then they were of Taylors! I just don't understand Watson's thinking.....Run something until the other team shuts it down. It was obvious that OU was NOT shutting down Rex in the Wild Cat!!! Which is precisely why SW ditched it. It wouldn't be "multiple" to stay with something that works. OK. What makes a good offensive coordinator is knowing what plays to call in certain situations. In that situation, Watson called the perfect play, we just didnt execute it. Who knows how many yards we would have gotten if we would have ran it. Oklahoma stuffed the box, and Martinez was wide open. Our offensive line blocks and its a good snap, we have a touchdown and take the lead. Why run something until the other team shuts it down when you can run something that will get you a TD? If we score on that play, we win the Big 12- OU was not going to score a TD, and everyone is saying how great a call it was. Even during the game at that point, people on here were saying theyd like to see a throw to Martinez, and after it doesnt work, not because of Watsons call, but because of the players fault, everyone hates Watson. Hate Watson all you want, but he did not lose us this game.
  8. We beat Missouri and Oklahoma State this year. Id say they are pretty good teams. While I dont agree with some of Watson's calls, a lot of it was just players execution. If the o-line blocked on the pass call to Martinez, its an easy TD. Our offensive line did not play well, what would you have done? Run the ball more? Pass more and lose more yardage on sacks. Its amazing how many fans turn on this team after one game. We lost by 3 points to a very good Oklahoma team. We didnt play our best and we turned the ball over too much. If anything, this loss falls more on the players then the coaches. The coaches were not out there fumbling the ball and throwing interceptions.
  9. An NFL Pro Bowl DB could have been covering those receivers and they would still have gotten open with all the time our defensive line gave Landry on some of those throws. Prince is a stud and I dont blame him for this loss at all.
  10. One drive for a touchdown to take the lead in the last game we will ever play in the Big 12 conference. Do we have what it takes?
  11. Tie ballgame going into the 4th quarter. Who wants it more? Offense needs to step up and defense needs to force a turnover. Lets go.
  12. Throw it AWAY Taylor. Come on, you don't need to make a play every time.
  13. Everyone needs to calm the f*ck down. Seriously, Oklahoma is the 9th best team in the country. They made a couple mistakes, we capitalized. We made mistakes, they capitalized. What, have any of you watched a football game before?
  14. Taylor is not stupid, he tried to make a play and he took it a little too far. NFL quarterbacks make the same type of mistakes. Teaching a QB to throw it away is the hardest thing you can do.
  15. Im probably just paranoid, but doesn't it seem like Musberger gets A LOT more excited when Oklahoma makes a big play then when we do?
  16. And thats why Alex Henery is the best kicker in the history of the NCAA.
  17. Another score here, first play go play action out of the zone read deep to Kyler Reed.
  18. Helu is so good in the open field, i dont know if ive seen him get caught from behind yet this year, seemed like last year he always would.
  19. Cowboys Stadium is BY FAR the best stadium that this game could be played it. While there is a big Texas bias, this is not one. Most championship games are played in domes, and this is the only real indoor stadium that makes sense for a Big 12 championship game. Seriously, I dont like Texas, but people are looking into things way too much. No one was complaining about this last year. The location of the game was decided long before NU and OU were going to play in it. Its a great stadium, looks great for the conference, and there will be plenty of NU and OU fans there. Come on.
