  1. Yeah, I guess I did. Sorry about that.
  2. Hey all, I am new here... I am both a diehard Nebraska AND Washington fan. Born and raised in Washington, but grew up watching the Huskers. My dad is from Taylor. I got my Nebraska hat, my blackshirts t-shirt... Or I have my Locker jersey. Ugh, this is going to be a tough week! Just hoping for a hard fought game, for both teams to play well, and no injuries. Glad to be here.
  3. Dawgman message board post complimenting Nebraska fans...
  4. Hey all, I am both a Washington and Nebraska fan - have been all my life. My dad was born in small Taylor, Nebraska so I grew up watching (and loving) the Big Red. I remember being a little guy when Tommie Frazier ran all over Florida in the NCG. I am also a big U-Dub fan. I am pretty torn on this game and really, I want the team who plays the best to win. Call me lame, but that's how I feel. This is the only sport where I like two teams equally the same. I got my Nebraska and Husky gear and really don't know which one I'll sport come Saturday. As for the Huskies, I'd be wary of predicting a big Husker win. This Washington team is hungry for a big win. The BYU game left a pretty horrible taste... Husky Stadium is going to be loud and I really expect a hard-fought game here. It won't be easy for either team, IMO. My opinion is that Nebraska should win, but we'll see. Go Dawgs, Go Huskers... I love you both.
  5. As both a U-Dub and Nebraska fan, I think Martinez will pose a lot of problems for Washington's defense. Riley Nelson and Jake Heaps played well against them earlier in the year and both are young QB's. Husky Stadium will be loud, though. I am pretty sure the game is sold out and Dawg fans are going to get loud. It will be interesting to see how Martinez plays...
  6. he is fast, yes. but it takes him a lot longer to get through the hole and up to top gear. taylor is in top gear as soon as he decides to go, completely different to defend. also, later in the article the players say it's diffent practicing because they aren't allowed to tackle the quarterback... touching a quarterback in practice and taking him down in a game are just a little different. you can bet bo's D will know how to tackle locker if he takes off Essentially exactly what I said. +1 While I essentailly agree with both your, pints and Locker has decent speed. Let's not forget how well Zac ran aginst Arizona last year, not exactly a team that was steller at stoping the QB run. How about Locker's RS-Frosh season when he ran for 986 yards on 5.7 YPC? Or when he ran for 102 yards against Ohio State in 2007 when they had a top 10 rush defense? Whoever he plays, Locker is one of the best running QB's in the nation. Sarkisian doesn't like him to run much anymore, but look at his game logs from the 2007 season. He ran wild on A LOT of defenses that year, just like Taylor Martinez is doing now.
  7. Jake Locker has ran multiple 4.4's in the 40-yard-dash before. That is a fact. Not too many QB's in the country can run that fast. Locker is actually one of the top three fastest players on Washington's roster. Martinez looks GREAT so far, but I think that we need to see how he does against a little stiffer competition than WKU and Idaho. I am both a Husker and Husky fan (like them both equally as much) but I would not try and downplay Locker. His W/L record at U-Dub isn't good but this is really the first year that he's had some quality talent surrounding him (last year too, but the team IS more talented this year). I don't know who'd win in a race between Martinez and Locker but I'm guessing it's not as clear-cut as the OP wants to think. Locker has RB-type speed and as I said before, that's a fact.
