  1. I hid my playstation so they don't know that I have experience playing NCAA 08. I'm still expecting a call though.
  2. Yeah, the scary thing is how easily I can see us in their position if Frost had turned us down. It will be interesting to see how our programs compare when we play them in 10 years.
  3. Clay Travis is an idiot. I wonder if UT fans would have reacted differently to Schiano if they knew how pathetic the program would look 3 days later.
  4. I think it's been a while since anyone has told Josh Freeman to shut up. I think it's due. Let's yell at the Gabbert family while we are add it.
  5. We have 9-10 months to wait for an actual game. Better buckle in. Or maybe we can just enjoy having some positive energy around the program again! I forgot what that was like.
  6. Haha, I don't know how to embed tweets, but now it sounds like Brohm to UT is not a done deal. This dumpster fire is getting too hot to even watch.
  7. ??? Moos said he wasn't firing Riley until the end of the year. Then Nebraska and Frost basically confirmed it after our season was over. Frost has one more game. This is exactly the time line everyone expected except you apparently.
  8. Tease? What more do you possibly want anyone to say without it being official? Nothing more can be said at this point. You don't want to hear any new news about Frost or Nebraska until Sunday.
  9. Did it surprise anyone else that Chip Kelly's contract was under $5 mil/year? I assumed that he was the top coach on the market. How much do you think Frost is getting a year? I thought he would be 5 to 5.5 mil a year, but now I'm wondering if we are closer to 4-4.5.
  10. I think him being the big up and coming coach of the year will carry a lot of weight at the start. Also, his time at Oregon will help sell the offense to skill players. I don't think there will be much of a drop off.
  11. I strongly disagree. I doubt many people even know where Rutgers is, and most couldn't tell you what conference they were in before the Big 10.
  12. I also vastly under estimated the value of Rutgers and Maryland. TV's mean everything and recruiting territory isn't far behind. But again, I was just trying to give a reason why UCF might be considered a better job.
  13. I know that one is a reach, but if he stayed, there's no reason for him to believe he couldn't sustain a high level of success. They are in a top 20 TV market and in a state that a lot of conferences would love to gain a share/bigger share of. I don't think it's too big of a stretch to see UCF and USF joining a power 5 conference together at some point. If that happens then a lot Nebraska's advantages are diminished. Again, I don't agree, but this is probably the biggest thing they can sell to a big time coach.
  14. Easier place to win: UCF Stress Level: UCF Current State of the Program: UCF Program Potential (if UCF is bumped up to power 5): UCF Realistic Expectations: UCF I don't agree with him, but there are definitely some positives in UCF's favor.
  15. This is exactly true for Florida as well, except they are located closer to top recruits than any of their competition, which also happens to be one of the most talent rich locations in the country.
  16. I would guess right in the middle of the pack. Better than most group of 5 schools because of their size and maybe even a little better than schools like Purdue, but not close to successful football schools. Now I will go look at pictures on the UCF site.
  17. Hopefully we don't have to find out, but some of those coaches who don't have the same options and Nebraska could be the best choice. If Frost wants to come home because he is a "NC QB ALUM" then matching the highest offer should be enough and I can't imagine another school willing to pay him more than $5 million.
  18. I'm not saying it's legit, I'm just trying to say why it makes no sense for them to do that.
  19. It is and I know what you are saying, but 6-7 million seems way too high for someone with Frost's resume. We could spend that kind of money on a more proven coach. Urban Meyer and Harbaugh are in that range (so is Rich Rod for some awful reason). Jimbo Fisher, David Shaw, Gary Patterson, Gus Malzahn, and James Franklin all make less 6 mil and some are under 5. I know we are desperate, but at some point we have to be realistic about his value.
  20. I could tolerate it if UNL said 6+ million is too much to pay for a coach. 5 million should be enough to attract Frost or another high quality coach.
  21. That is a ton of money for a group of 5 school to pay 1 coach. Hell, that's a lot of money for a power 5 school. It seems like they would be sacrificing every other program to try to keep a guy who they would have to worry about leaving every year. Good for Frost if he wants it, but this doesn't seem like a great financial decision by the university.
  22. I think people are completely misreading Lars's tweet. All he said was they were "close" and that he was confident in the offer. He never mentioned or claimed to know anything about Frost's interest. It seems like all of his information is coming from the Nebraska side. Frost or his agent might have told Nebraska this was close, but who knows if that's just a negotiation tactic. Until it is official, everything is a rumor. Don't get to high or low on any of the information.
