  1. I think people were more pissed at the playcall, but I can’t speak for everyone. I agree we’re better than the record. That was the case with Frost for a couple seasons also, so hopefully things will be different this time.
  2. There are much lower risk plays than the one people keep pointing to when comparing this week to last (ignoring the other differences in the 2 situations). And if that’s the case, I fail to see why going for OT is better than trying to have 2 more plays in regulation, especially on the road. Also, why do you keep saying you’re going to stop talking to me then keep replying and now you’ve moved on to telling me to stop? I’ll stop whenever I feel like it or am not allowed to post anymore. You can in turn do whatever you feel like, but it’s been weird so far.
  3. lol @PaulCrewe has been making the same points as I have on the clock management and agrees with me. He is responding to Undone in the post you’re quoting.
  4. They were aggressive and called a high risk play (knowing our personnel). They didn’t have to do the latter. We especially didn’t need to do the latter tonight given how well we were running it. and I would not call this aggressive. Saving the time out and running on 3rd down in the hopes you get 2-3 more plays and have 2 time outs is not aggressive. It’s the clear choice. Those plays can still be conservative but give a chance for a TD.
  5. The people mad about not getting a field goal are not requiring the team to call higher risk plays in this situation. You can save the clock, then run 3 moderate to low risk plays. You can run the ball on 3rd with the plan to run out the clock on 4th down before kicking the FG. The only arguments against doing it that way are maybe we fumble it or maybe Wisconsin calls a time out at 28 secs to try to score after our FG. But that’s the most conservative way you can call it. The best option if your offense is shaky is save the time out, run on 3rd down. If you get the 1st down you can try to run again. You could even run it twice and then pass it. 3 plays instead of 1. If you don’t get the 1st down, you run the clock down to 3 secs then kick the FG.
  6. You actually have a point here, however nobody was asking them to call high risk plays. They were asking to keep 15-20 additional secs on the clock. That gives you 2 plays, which don’t have to be aggressive. You can want better clock management and moderate to low risk plays at the same time. The worst choice is to lose your options by losing 15 seconds on 3rd down.
  7. I feel Johnson could do better if given more snaps. Maybe it’s just coaches today in general but it seems we don’t believe in running backs getting into a groove and rotate every 2 plays.
  8. I want the football team to challenge the bowling team.
  9. I can’t read all the replies but HuskerX has been really obnoxious for sure. Probably!
  10. They’ll def still go to the portal though.
  11. Can’t agree with the take on the D. As usually they did pretty much everything needed to allow the team to win if the offense is average.
  12. This was the first 4 posts I made on the topic. You are legit nuts and the only one here who thinks the clock management was fine.
  13. What like closer in score so it looks nicer?
  14. Where did I change the goal posts? We were well within FG range when we had 3rd down and let the clock run, which is when I made the bottom post.
  15. You don’t even know what that phrase means. I made literally one call, which is you don’t let the clock run out on 3rd down there. Making the call before the last 2 plays makes it look better, not worse.
  16. Because it was obvious on 3rd down, and everyone knows it but you, that you run it on 3rd down and then call the time out at 3 seconds if you don’t get 1st down. The fact I called it before the next plays means I was correct. It doesn’t mean what you think it does. You are lacking a basic understanding here.
  17. Because we absolutely 100% did. You keep the time and then if you need to run it out you do that the next time you line up. They ran it on 3rd down, after the time out.
  18. No. You don’t let the time run out on 3rd down. You run it on 3rd down after the time out and then let it run out on 4th down if you don’t get it. This is basic pop warner coaching.
  19. We could have 30 f#&%ing seconds left right now. If we weren’t s#!tty at coaching.
  20. Why let time lapse on 3rd down when you coulda done that on 4th down for the FG? WTF man this isn’t hard.
  21. don’t need to let all the time go on this play… what the hell man??
  22. I don’t think Wisc needed to take a TO there…
  23. I think the edge was sealed for Johnson on the previous play
