Why are the announcers talking about 7-0? I can see 6-1 but it wouldn't be at all surprising to lose one of the games like this one.

Ya really hoping he or Lee or Gebbia will be decent right away next year. I think people need to lay off tommy a bit. I bet he wins us more than one game this year with his skills, and sadly won't get credit for it I'll say this; he avoids some sacks the new guys won't be able to avoid. But: He doesn't seem to know it's legal to throw the ball away He's not good at short passes He makes bad decisions This year he has improved on knowing when to scramble but in the past he was bad at it. He was only good at running on planned runs for a long time.

This is what game threads are. It's about reacting in the moment and getting pumped up or pissed off. Then after the game is over most people become sane again. may be true but and that is fine but there is so much game left to be saying Oregon is going to blow us out next week or other similar predictions on the season. Just surprised to see so little faith It's the nature of game threads.

Strangely enough, I don't think he was brought in to win more. I think he was brought in to reboot the program and get it in a positive place again. I think he is viewed as a transition coach. Just my opinion I don't think anyone hires a coach for that reason but if he can have a string of decent years while not screaming and being a jack ass then I guess that's a good thing.

I think we'll win 8-9 games this year but watching this it's really hard to see Riley doing better than Pelini long term (as far as wins, that is). If he does as well as Pelini than I'd prefer him but... better would be better.

Firing a coach in mid season sounds crazy, but would these units be any worse if they coached themselves or were coached by a GA? I really don't see how.

or Clemson or a number of other top programs playing down to lesser opponents early on in the season. We don't look great right now, doesn't mean we can't be a great team we just aren't putting it all together right now which isn't that uncommon. Some people here need to hold their horses and let the game play out before they start declaring the season a disaster because we aren't clicking completely in the first half of our second game. Exactly, just enjoy the game for a bit. Expecting perfection from 18-22 year old kids in ridiculous. Every team makes mistakes. The hope is to learn from them and grow as a team. All this doom and gloom gets tiring.I don't expect perfection. I expect competence. And it's not the players that are at fault for the most part. Throwing on 1st and goal on the 4. The defensive scheme. These are problems that come from the very grown up and highly paid coaches.alright man you take the headset and win some games for us you got this Only chefs can be food critics. Only directors can be film critics. Only people coaching at the FBS level can be critical on HB. You're a joke. This game might get scary. Anytime Wyoming is on our 40 yard line or closer they're going to use all 4 downs since their kicker sucks.

That was the right call. He was out of the play and the tackle was already made. If you look at Gates head he couldn't see what was going on with the running back and the running back was still moving. (Usually I don't defend stuff like this but it's what I saw on the replay). Anyway, not important.
