  1. I have been made to feel most welcome. The guys that we met at the tail gate party last year were great! They have helped me get tickets and treated us very nice. Hope to be able to do it again this fall. Thanks for letting this old lady join in!
  2. borNred..... Where do you live? I am from 6th & Martha! Used to walk to the games when I was young!
  3. That would be awesome! Gotta keep our tradition going! We all had such a good time last year, that we're sure looking forward to another game. Keep us in mind! Thanks!
  4. Does anybody know if the University is going to have the "waiting list" again this year for football tickets? We need to continue our "3 Generation" tradition. My son wants another weekend in Lincoln for a college graduation gift! Go Big Red!
  5. Thank you guys! Best job in the world! Not only being a Mom....I'm going to be a Grandma in September. (Kind of puts me in a bind for my yearly trip home to go to a game...but I'll work something out!) Hope you all appreciate your Moms and let them know today!
  6. Have a great time guys! I hope to get back in the fall. Have a few for me! Cheer them on for me! Go Big Red!
  7. Awesome! Sawyer Brown wrote a song called "Brook's Song" and it's #18 on one of their CD's. They had met Brook and got to be friends and also thought of him as a great guy!
  8. Great game! Especially since I'm "home" and got to watch with my Mom! I was born and raised about a mile from Rosenblatt Stadium. Lots of memories from the old College World Series and Royals games. Go Big Red! Hope to see them in the CWS again this year!
  9. It's been a crazy winter, but hope everybody is doing well! Just wanted to let you all know about the best party in the country..........Jamboree in the Hills! It's in eastern Ohio, about a mile from our house. Top country acts and a ton of fun! It's like a huge 4 day tail-gate party, and this is the 30th Anniversary. July 13-16 in Morristown, Ohio. It's a blast. Even if you don't like country music. Lots of beverages, food, music, and fun. The line-up now includes: Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Sugarland. Check it out at: www.jamboreeinthehills.com. We haven't missed one in years!
  10. Steelers all the way! I only live an hour from Pittsburgh, and the fans are crazy all over here! They have good fan support just like the Huskers do! The stores can't keep stocked up with T-shirts, towels, etc! Schools, offices, businesses..........all wearing Steeler clothes all week now coming up. It's great to have something positive to look forward to! Big Ben and Jerome Bettis will take them all the way!
  11. Way to go Husker wrestlers! I too am a fan and was a "wrestling Mom" for 11 years. Can't say enough about the sport. Taught my boys a lot about sportmanship....winning or losing....and a lot about life in general. They are 23 and 25 and still refer back to wrestling and how it affected their lives. My oldest son is assistant varsity coach at his high school and loves it! Keep up the good work Huskers! Aren't the Nationals at the Qwest Center this year?
  12. Same here! I'm stuck here in the land of the Buckeyes. (Worthless nuts!) Anyway, this is a great place. Everybody is great. You'll have to get back home for a game and attend one of their tailgate parties. Best bunch of people you could meet!
  13. Thanks for all your comments and support. I've sent them on to Dan. I know he'll get a kick out of them! Now.........its' off to work 'I' go!
  14. Happy Birthday to you..Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Eric, and many more!
  15. Just need to rant about my son losing his job........ After 4 years of working at a well known, popular sports bar franchise, my son was told to leave! It was last Tuesday night...........2 big Bowl games here in Ohio. Ohio St. and WVU. He showed up for his scheduled shift........3 p.m. until closing, which means about 10-11 hours. He expressed him displeasure at being scheduled for such a long shift with only 1 other bartender and was told to leave. He was going to finish the evening and look for something else the next day, but was told to leave immediately! This is the best part..........it was mandatory that they wear Ohio St. clothes that night, but Dan showed up decked from head to toe in his Nebraska gear! Go Big Red and Go Dan! I'm sorry he lost his job, but I'm sure proud of him! I guess the other good thing is....he'll graduate in May with a Graphic Design degree and will be heading in other directions anyway. (His goal was to turn that bar into a "Husker Nation".........)
  16. Hskrfannnwk.........couldn't resist just one more! Us girls gotta stick together! I shave my legs, I sit down to pee. And I can justify any shopping spree. Don't go to a barber, but a beauty salon. I can get a massage without a hard-on. I can balance the checkbook, I can pump my own gas. Can talk to my friends, about the size of my ass. My beauty's a masterpiece, and yes, it takes long. At least I can admit, to others when I'm wrong. I don't drive in circles, at any cost. And I don't have a problem, admitting I'm lost. I never forget an important date. You just gotta deal with it, I'm usually late. I don't watch movies, with lots of gore. Don't need instant replay, to remember the score. I won't lose my hair, I don't get jock itch. And just cause I'm assertive, Don't call me a bitch. Don't say to your friends, Oh yeah, I can get her. In your dreams, my dear, I can do better! Flowers are okay, But jewelry's best. Look at ME you idiot... Not at my chest???? I don't have a problem, With Expressing my feelings. I know when you're lying, You look at the ceiling. DON'T call me a GIRL , a BABE or a CHICK . I am a WOMAN. Get it?, you DICK!?!
  17. From a "hormonal friend".... Once when I told my husband I just wish he'd have to go through "it" one time........he answered me, "I have!" Men are like laxatives.........they irritate the sh#t out of you. Men are like weather....nothing can be done to change them. Men are like blenders.......you need one, but you're not sure why. Men are like chocolate.......Sweet, smooth, and they usually head right for your hips. Men are like commercials......you can't believe a word they say. Men are like department stores..........their clothes are always 1/2 off. Men are like government bonds........they take sooooo long to mature. Men are like popcorn.........they only satisfy you for a little while. Men are like lava lamps........fun to look at, but not very bright. Men are like parking spots........all the good ones are taken. The rest are handicapped. This is for all our remarkable women, as well as any understanding, good natured, fun guys!
  18. The wrestlers were awesome too! Go Big Red Wrestlers! Now to beat Michigan in football too!
  19. Got to go to the game! What an experience! The seats weren't that bad, and the atmosphere was great! The girls played very well together after a slow start. I was thrilled to hear the band play the Fight Song, and There is No Place Like Nebraska, and the crowd was really into it. Good luck tonight girls! Go Big Red!
  20. I'm visiting in Omaha, my "Thanksmas" trip......in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyway......they are selling single game tickets this morning. $15.50 & $18.50. Hope to get a pair for tonights game so I can take my Mom. If anybody is going, maybe we can meet to say "hi".
  21. I love your scenario! Goose bumps all over! Does anybody know where they got the idea?
  22. Awesome picture (now my background)! Awesome T-shirt! I had to work yesterday and got to watch the last 6 minutes of the game on an old fuzzy black & white TV with no sound in the back room. The camera showed one of the guys lifting up his jersey, but I couldn't read the shirt. Maybe they should have thought of a new phrase earlier in the year! Something kicked in yesterday! I'm so proud of those boys! Can't wait to find a tape of the game somewhere! Go Big Red!
  23. Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Have a safe and good day. Anybody traveling to Colorado........be careful and cheer the Big Red on to a victory! We're deep frying a turkey with family. I have to work Friday, so hope my son can keep me updated on the game! Hope our Huskers go out there and show them who's boss! Go Big Red! NU 24 CU 21
  24. God Bless the USA and our Husker Heroes! What a great picture! Stay safe and come home quick! Hopefully our boys will pull out a big win next Friday! Go Big Red........and Wohlford and Smith!
  25. A Nebraskan was doing some shopping in downtown Omaha. He looked up at the top of a tall building and discovered a man ready to jump. "Stop," he yelled. "Remember, you're someone who has value!" The man yelled back, "I just lost everything across the river at the casinos!" "But remember, you're important to your wife!" "She divorced me and took everything I had that I didn't gamble away." "Your children, remember your children," yelled the Nebraskan. "They never call," said the man. "Then your parents, remember your parents," yelled the Nebraskan. "Dead as doornails," said the man. "Then think of all the Cornhusker football games you will miss," yelled the Nebraskan. The man shouted, "But, I am a Buffalo's fan!" The Nebraskan replied, "Go ahead and jump, you dumb ass!"
