  1. Martinez is simply not the guy to get NU to the promised land. It is clear his confidence is gone and I do not see it coming back while he's here. If he can't be healed and confident after a month of prep for one game, we can't expect much out of him anymore. His act is PATHETIC. When the going gets tough, Taylor gets a limp. How sick and tired are we of this? Anyone else notice that no one seems talks to him? He is clearly disconnected from the rest of the players. He was starring at the O-Line every time he got sacked in disgust. Anyone else catch that. We do seem to be revolving alot around this guy that has zero confidence in himself. Can't run, can't throw, but loves to take the sack on 3rd and 8 to make it 4th and 23. Think maybe they could've coached how to throw the ball away? Was that forward pitch the the Washington DB what they worked on. He is terrible. Pack his bags with Wats and Cotton. He doesn't embobdy what a Neb football player should be. All finesse, no heart and balls.
  2. What good can really come from this game at this point? 1. QB is not getting better - and was to be close to 100% 2. Momentum into Big 10 ??? Ya right. Looks like Minny would be tough for us. 3. Offensive rehaul??? after this what team would want Watson as OC or Head coach. I am sure many others concur, but this has become a disappointing groundhog day when it it comes husker games. I feel for Bo, I can see another tounge lashing or tow in the 2nd half.
  3. Interesting. It could be possibility. It has definitely garnered more media attention towards the Big XII. After reading articles and boards this week, speculation is the flavor of the year for NU. I was actually thinking there may be more to all this as well. I think this may be the last home game for Shawn Watson too. With Chaitlin's article today on Bo and Martinez and his article a few days ago about the offense - I think he is trying to help out the cause for getting Watson removed. Maybe Martinez feels that Watson's game plan relies too much on him. Then you get an article about McNeil. Why don't we use him more - or any of our other athletes more? I can see why he said the problem is systematic. It revolved around the OC. Too much pressure on T-Mart - he feels the heat and ponders transferring. McNeil says I guess you just always be prepared if the ball is thrown your way. I guarantee he is pissed about the number of touches he has seen this year. The problem is systemic. Bo is pissed the offense isn't progressing like the D has. On top of that the NU program is getting hosed by the Big XII. Maybe the media will also begin to comment on Watson and the inability to have a consistent (scoring 28 pts a game) offense at the same time they comment on the shady BigXII, Beebe, the penalties, the officials. I bet the off-season will be full of action!
  4. Great article indeed. If OSU can have a 1-2 year OC and avg 45 or so pts a game, we should be actively looking. Watson has had a chance to right the ship and has only put band-aids on the "systematic" issues. I doubt it would be a hard sell. Control the Offense for NU? There would be plenty of takers I would assume. The hard part would be choosing!
  5. What happened - really? Two words - BILL CALLAHAN. Thats what happened. Lets not forget we all knew it would take time to get the tradition built back up - that includes the fans tradition too. This being said - It is difficult when you as a fan seemed more amped up than the players - see TEXAS in 2010. Also see SDSU and KU 2010.
  6. Wondering on the repercussions of a second loss what be to the Huskers. I got to thinking about the negative talk about Watson and Gilmore and can't help but wonder if this game means more about their long term future than any other. Frankly, I don't think the team could lose another game without another lashing out for these two. Right now you wonder what Pelini is thinking and what Osborne is thinking. We have a talented QB in Martinez. Would they have a perspective of "Hey, it's only going to get better because we have T-Magic" or might the line of thought be "We only have this kid for another 3 years - if we want to get a new OC and some receivers to catch the ball, should we make a change now while we know our QB can make plays himself?" Tough to say, and to be honest, I just want to see consistency week to week. I am sure they are both great coaches, but at the same time most of us want to see more flexibility in the offensive scheme. I am curious as to others thoughts on these scenarios.
