  1. Potential? LMAO. I'll take the knapp stance on this one. Give me some facts. What do you mean potential. It's arrogance like this that drives me nuts. Where does it state that Nebraska will continue to 'own us'. I can only report on what I have heard from friends down at Mizzou, but their practice facilities and weight rooms are second to none. And do you have facts on $$$$'s and educational support? Come on dude...come back down to earth.
  2. During the game, 86000 cheered as Nebraska rolled. They didn't leave at halftime to go out and start drinking (and remember it was 34-0 at the half). Some were outside, but they had passes to get back in and by the time the second half was ready to kick off, they were all back in their seats. In the fourth quarter there were STILL over 80000 in the stands. Security keeps an eye out for the sign of alcohol in the stands, which is how trouble starts. If they see alcohol they don't turn a blind eye. After all, college football is about a FAMILY atmosphere. And when it ended, the fans stayed for another Cornhusker tradition. They applauded the Cajuns as they left the field. I've been to Lincoln twice. I was impressed with the courteousness of the fans. All wearing red. Great atmosphere. The tradition, etc. But, I seriously have to question this guy's article. It's easy to keep 80K butts in the seats when the team is winning. I was there last year when the fans were leaving IN DROVES midway through the 2nd half when Mizzou was pounding the Huskers. I have photos. I have videos. So I have factual evidence to back up my statement, knapp. Less than half the fans were still in the stadium at the concolusion. Nothing in Columbia can compare to Lincoln. Your fans are more well behaved....passion level is the same....but the loyalty in Lincoln is something to be admired. I'm not turning this into a bashfest because I know Columbia can't compare, I'm just questioning this guy's article.
  3. Okay...I'll get back on point and post a joke instead of taking jabs at the Honorable Dr. Tom, and LP and Peter....and Johnny Rodgers. *phew* Why is the Nebraska field made with artificial turf instead of grass? So the cheerleaders won't be tempted to graze. Just one more comment about your AD. I was at a silent auction for a charity a couple years ago. As I was perusing the items on the table, I ran across a football with Tom's autograph on it. Some guy came up behing me with drool on his chin and asked how much I was going to bid for it. I said, "Dude....you couldn't PAY me to take that football....." He looked at me all weird and sh*t.
  4. Bring up Christian Peter all you want, dude. Every time you reach up there to the back of the top shelf to try to crack on this team it makes you look weak. Phillips and Christian Peter ended their Husker careers in 1995. 14 years, home boy. If you have to go back 14 years to dig up dirt on your opponent, I think you've officially jumped the shark. If you and/or your cronies have to bring up booger picking? Holy smokes....that's WEAK! I don't know why the guy that allowed these convicts to play is still associated with the program. THAT is why I'm dusting off their names. Maybe since he's back, he'll start scouting prison yards for your next Heisman winner and bring the program back to national prominence.
  5. Curious why you would ask that. I don't know. I have a complex.
  6. Bob...I've already tried to explain this to them, so get ready for a shootdown. My view of Mizzou so far. In the Illinois game, the Illini (no matter how bad they are now) were expected to roll over Mizzou. Analysts thought it. Vegas thought it. Mizzou had zero chance. Mizzou played tremendously. They were a very young team and they let success go to their head early. BIG BIG let down against Bowling Green. Sleepwalking through the first half. Showed tremendous moxie by coming back and winning. Mizzou of the 80's - 90's would have rolled over like the Huskers did to Mizzou last year. Furman, cakewalk. Nevada. Once again, experts thought this was 'their' year. There was scuttlebut about them possibly beating Notre Dame. They wound up laying a couple of eggs and then................COME HOME......to play a Top 25 program. Home team, trying to make a statement tries to hang with Mizzou. Can't. A TD within the last 2 minutes makes it a respectable score. I think Gary Pinkel has been playing it very close to the vest. He's a smart dude that has been in the Big XII for 8-9 years now. Did he think he was going to win the National Championship? Hell no. He has played very vanilla offensive and defensive schemes while his players mature. I can guarantee you he'll have the young Tigers ready for the Huskers and the rest of the Big XII season. Do you realize that Perry actually beat out Maclin back in '06? Be afraid. I think you just inadvertently compared your beloved Tigers to Bowling Green Huh?
  7. ....and equally, a football player pulling a co-ed down the steps by her hair after breaking in to her apartment and then being allowed to play. A travesty I tell you..... A travesty! You're kidding us with this sh#t right? Even the most illogical Missouri fans who can't argue their way out of a paper bag wouldn't even resort to bringing this up in 2009. Isn't this a kidding thread? Or do you want me to bring up Christian Peter? He was allowed to play too, right? Now THAT'S funny.....
  8. I'm not trying to stir anything up. If you don't believe me, see one of the four or five Missou threads started. See how a Husker fan posts something and then you and other Missou fans find ways to dismiss our points that we are making? This goes on for several pages on numerous threads. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's a fact. Don't lump me in with the masses.
  9. This is my OWN personal opinion. Am I as confident as last year? Heck no. I was in Lincoln last year and when Mizzou dominated from the opening snap, I was thinking it was expected. Do I think the Huskers have improved? Of course, some.... Do I think Mizzou is as good as last year? Not quite, but the drop off is not drastic. You have to remember this about Mizzou: Gabbert better than Daniel but still maturing. Wide Receivers are plug and play. Not much of a drop off. Defense as a whole is better after last year's disaster. Offensive line is incredibly young and will get better. I believe this is the key point. Additionally, I truly believe Pinkel has some stuff up his sleeve and Mizzou is at home. And Pelini's gum will put out a referee's eye.
  10. Actually, he would probably just find some way to dismiss it. No, actually I wouldn't. Another example of a Husker fan trying to stir it. Now...In the short time that I have 'known' knapp, I have come to respect his football knowledge and wouldn't think he would post trumped up stats and such. I would like to think that he would believe me as well. Even though I post some inflammatory remarks now and again, I don't post untruths. Now....since I can't believe him anymore..............
  11. As an FYI - Nebraska has a younger team than Missouri. Here's a breakdown of each team's rosters: Year MU NU FR 29 40 RFR 23 40 SO 25 22 RSO 7 0 JR 17 26 RJR 2 0 SR 13 14 TOTAL 116 142 56% of Nebraska's roster are Freshmen or Redshirt Freshmen, compared to 45% of Missouri's. We have only one more Senior on our roster than Missouri. So these are both pretty young teams, and yet only one of us is using our youth as an explanation for why we've played erratically this year. A point to ponder. Nice stats, Dahli Lama of the Huskerboard. Now....what is the breakdown of the starting 22 + 2? Or how about just key positions. Please research and get back to me.

  14. Nah, bro - what's funnier is that this is your go-to "crack" on Husker fans. The shelf life on this joke expired about a decade ago. But here you are, taking it off the shelf once again. Sorry, gotta go. I'm about to buy a bunch of surplus cell phones from this guy. I'll let you know if I find anything good on them... Once again, if the shoe is on the other foot......... i.e. Chase Booger jokes
  15. Why wouldn't we be the team to beat? Two straight north titles, and really a bularkey holding call in the final seconds of the ISU game in 2006 (which the league apologized for) would have made it 3 straight. We have the best record by nearly every measure of success for the last 2, 3, 4 even 5 years of anyone in the North. And even if you don't like our competition, I think you'd agree that the predictions of Missouri's demise without Daniel and Maclin are grossly overstated. Doc, you're wasting your breath. There are a couple logical Husker fans here, but the majority (95%) can't be reasoned with.
  16. LOL...another post captured. I'm going to be busy on the 9th.
  17. Let me rephrase that.... You guys stir up our emotions with your crap talk.
  18. I don't know what's funnier.... Tom Osborne letting Lawrence 'hair-puller' Phillips play after a 'token suspension'.... Or that you still treat Osborne as a God.
  19. That's something I'm still trying to figure out. We all know Nebraska hasn't done sh#t yet under Pelini. There's optimism, and for good reason, but this idea that Missouri has arrived as a program is cringe worthy. Arrived at what, exactly? Good news for us is, they're not going to arrive at anything until they make a commitment to playing defense. Once in awhile they bust out a good performance, but week in week out, not that impressive. Who said, "We've arrived as a program"? We're proud of the Tigers. We went through some hard times...think how sour you would be if you went through what we went through. We're winning a little bit. Embrace our enthusiasm. Have some fun with the rivalry. You guys are the ones that stir sh*t up by saying how great you are and you're going to go undefeated in the Big XII, etc, etc, etc. Just relax and have fun till the 8th.
  20. .....and Mizzou outgained them in the air 414-146. I should certainly hope so - Nevada is 118th out of 120 teams vs. the pass. This is nothing to brag about; Colorado could have done this. Just making sure you list ALL the facts, man....ALL the facts.
  21. Like another dick? . Sorry TT, couldnt resist. Got some fart jokes as well. I love a good fart joke...let's hear it.
