There's many different ways that can exacerbate hives...can be hard to pin point the foreign matter which is causing it...could be food, poison, venom, viruses, etc.
I would get mine from certain foods...but I believe mine had to deal more with my gut being damaged and over time the hives went away once I took a few foods out of my diet for a little while.
