That's fine. But your ignorance should not supersede others' rights.

It's akin to saying I don't get others' fascination with guns so they should all be banned.

But the deflection of moral and personal responsibility of a woman should supersede the rights of unborn children…. And if we’re being honest, that’s what most abortions are. Talk about ignorance.

What a lazy and stupid take.

Who defined what a woman was today?

can you give even one example?

The “conservative” posters here wonder why they face backlash.  You don’t face backlash because you’re conservative, you are treated as non serious because you aren’t.

@TGHusker is about as conservative as they come and he is very respected here. Along with several others.

If you couldn’t pick up on the sarcasm of that post, I don’t know what to tell you.

And it sounds like you take me about as seriously as I take you (and your pals on here), so at least we have that in common.
I’ve always felt like I’ve given my honest, rational opinion on here. I don’t worry all that much how it sits with you(s).

And this is what I’m hoping.  Today is “mission accomplished” for the fanatics.

Now REPUBLICANS will have to defend the stupid.  It is no longer a broad pro life and pro choice.  Now it becomes more localized.

I posted a picture of my daughter and how Ricketts wants her to carry a rapist’s baby. Let’s just say the reaction probably wasn’t what Pillen was hoping for.  Two of these folks had Pillen signs in their yard one month ago.  Not anymore.  Small sample, but gives me hope!

Im far from extreme on the situation, I just truly don’t understand why anyone would support abortion outside of the extreme examples of medical emergencies or rape. I’ve tried to see the other side of it, but really just can’t understand it.

a lot of Anti-Choicers on social media barking out for other Anti-Choicers to get out there tomorrow and start applying pressure to take away choice in their state.

There’s been a whole lot of hyperbolic whining on the social media platforms today. On Twitter, we’ve already reached the point of tracking which corporations have/haven’t put out statements on the matter.

Obviously, I support the decision of the Supreme Court. It absolutely should be a state issue and, in my opinion, abortion should only be performed under medical emergencies, or rape. Outside of those rare instances, abortions are an act of inhumanity, and a gross deflection of personal/moral responsibility.

There's a clear line of demarcation between the peaceful BLM protests and the riots that sometimes - but not always, followed. There's also ample evidence that some - but not all - of the violence that ensued was caused by racist right-wingers. Conflating those two is at best uneducated and stupid, and at worst blatantly racist. People from either ilk make the same mistake.

Del Rio was fined for being racist or stupid. Pick one. In an industry that relies heavily on Black employees, many of whom have been outspoken in their support of George Floyd and the ensuing peaceful protests (no one, to my knowledge, has endorsed the riots that followed), Del Rio's comment was not going to go unpunished.

Which part of "invasion" do you take umbrage with?

I don’t take issue with much (if any) of the criticism around the January 6 mess, but I do take some issue with ESPN (and most every other media outlet) downplaying the very real damage caused by BLM riots. The same kind of downplaying that landed Del Rio a hefty fine.

If it’s allegedly right-wingers causing the damage during the riots, how can Del Rio’s comments be deemed racist? Did he single out damage done by blacks? If so, I guess I missed that part of his statement.

As far as conflating the two events, I think it’s more than fair. There are a number of correlations. Unfortunately for Del Rio, he works in an organization that pretends one of the events (which of there have been many) were justified…. And for the record, I found Del Rio’s downplaying of the riots at the Capital to be incredibly stupid. It overshadowed his completely fair criticism of the BLM riots.

  6. So, was Del Rio fined because he (wrongly) downplayed what happened on January 6th in DC, or because he (accurately) called the BLM riots out for what they are? Either way, a fine is ridiculous.

Also, the wording from ESPN in that tweet…. “Invasion” vs. “protests”….

  7. There is a very clear issue with those of the Islamic faith in countries throughout Europe. You don’t have to look far to find plenty of examples. The terrorism in Sweden, and the blocking of an Easter procession in Spain, are just very recent examples. Pointing out the clear danger in Islamic ideologies (or at least the interpretation of the ideologies by a large number of Muslims) is not bigoted, and suggesting differently is moronic and an intentional effort to the avoid the obvious. The potential danger of the Islamic faith is obvious to most reasonable people, even popular figures on the left like Sam Harris and Bill Maher. Of course they’re not all bad, even most. But in this situation, the fringe isn’t small.

That’s an incredibly dramatic breakdown of the texts in that CBS news video. Maybe there’s more to it. She seems to think Biden stole the election, but there didn’t appear to be any attempt to strategize, etc. It’s definitely a bad look all involved, no doubt there.

Might as well stick a fork in the American Experiment and figure out how life will be in an authoritarian theocracy.  But hey let's rage farm about what defines a woman instead.

    Where is Clarence btw?

Is there more to it? Or was that it?

I don’t think the SC should ever be involved in that question. The NCAA and the IOC and conferences and whatever other controlling bodies are quite capable of determining who can participate in what sports/events. Sure they seem to be struggling to get it right but that doesn’t raise it to a SC issue. I don’t think their job is to straighten out society.

Maybe they should, maybe they shouldn’t. I just think they will.
