  1. Of course they thought it through. The timing is pretty good if you have Perlman and Eichorst releasing their statements tonight. It seemed to be released perfectly for the desired effect. You reap what you sow, Bo! And for those masochists wanting the person who released this tape to go public, I hope you equally wish that Pelini had told you to "Eff off!" right to your faces (you know, rather than behind your backs like the coward/bully that he is).
  2. There are over 700 replies to this thread, all evincing shock at Pelini's actions in some form or another. Everyone agrees Bo will have to answer for what he said. But that's a separate issue from the tool who released this recording. HuskerBoard, you see, is capable of walking and chewing gum. Simultaneously. I was calling out the utter absurdity of thinking that it's the person releasing the recording who lacks respect for the fans. Of course this was a calculated release by someone with an agenda. So what? It was the perfect time to release it. People have legitimate reasons to want Pelini gone, and some may have legitimate reasons to have their identities concealed. That's how things work.
  3. Hilarious. The person who says "Eff you, fans!" isn't called out for having no regard for the fans; rather, it's the person who released the recording who has no regard for those fans! Priceless. You guys have Stockholm Syndrome -- a classic case if I've ever seen one!
  4. But we know that an advertisement for an OC was posted on the UNL site! So, we do know that a search is on. Also, that was nothing but BS or lies that he said in the Shatel piece about the position maybe being for an intern or something! Also, someone earlier said that Bo obviously doesn't care about what people think. I think that's definitely NOT true. If he didn't care about what people think, then he wouldn't get so mad and upset. People who really don't care about what other people think would be unfazed by the types of questions and comments that obviously upset Pelini.
  5. Frost isn't being unreasonable here. Nebraska is desperate on the offensive side of the ball. Frost has a sweet job -- he doesn't need to make a lateral move. He's loved where he is, he's making good money, Nike can always provide more money, and Oregon is (frankly) a more successful and stable program than is Nebraska at the moment. Pelini got a coordinator position here in 2003 without any better resume than Frost's, by my judgment.
  6. If that is true, would that alone be reason for dismissal? Is it against the verbiage in his contract, because consentual relations between 2 consenting adults should be no one elses business, no matter how unsavory the situation. Consenting adults whether married or not? Yes if other adult is not a student of UNL. I would think there is a clause in every employee of UNL that they cannot engage in relations with any student at the university. This is why I think the supposed indescretion Carl had wouldn't be the same. The supposed other was not a student. Was it right if actually true? No, not morally but it wasn't the first time and wont be the last it happens to a school employee or coach. But it had nothing to do with a student which would be pretty much unforgiveable as an employee. This is just what i'm reading between the lines. It's normal at universities that employees (e.g., professors) CAN have sexual relations with students, so long as they're not supervising them. I know this because I am a professor at a state university, and I can assure you that this is the norm for the majority of schools. (I know of several marriages that have come about this way!) Now, there are exceptions for certain high profile positions, which do have different standards and conduct clauses.
