Ohio Pete
ERIC CROUCH DIDN'T PLAY IN 1997! Goddamn espn. Ha ha, is that bad editing or is that some stinky bait like on the old rsfc newsgroup days? About once a year there'd be a post like "Hokies - Are They Still the best West Virginia Team?" and every time someone would earnestly explain that Virginia Tech was in Blacksburg, Virginia not West Virginia: Let me take a moment to reflect... This time of year our thought turn to the success stories of the previous season. Collectively we ponder whether the top College football programs from last year can maintain their status as the best in the nation. I am one Husker fan who is not ashamed to say that Michael Vick and company will most assuredly repeat in the top 5 teams in the nation this year. Unquestionably they will be "The Very Best Team hailing from West Virginia". Best Wishes to the Hokies - the pride of West Virginia! -- Proud Double Nominee for the 1999 "RUTSIE" Awards. TX-Husker-2011
ESPN is so naive when it comes to Husker football. Kinda sorta lame if you ask me. Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
Ah, but this brings up memories of that '99 Husker squad led by Eric Crouch who deserved to win a national title that year. That team was as good as FSU and definitely better than VA Tech. Still can't believe we lost down in Austin that year. At least we took out our frustrations on Tennessee in our bowl game that year.
