no placebo husker
The huskers lost the momentum when the USC player was severely injured on the kickoff?? I hope he is ok. In my opinion that what where we lost momentum and we lost the crowd and energy. Quote Link to comment

In my opinion that what where we lost momentum and we lost the crowd and energy. That did seem to be the turning point. I was wondering at the time if he was faking it to get our fans and D out of the game. It took them more than 10 minutes to get him off of the field. Just a thought I had. Quote Link to comment

I thought it changed more on the "fumbled" kickoff return, that netted an extra 40+ yards. Quote Link to comment
SkerMin8r
BTW...Herbstreit and Musberger mentioned during the game that he (USC player) was OK... Quote Link to comment

HuskerfaninOkieland
It was. I also heard later in the game they said the player had a bruised larynx or something? Quote Link to comment
huskerdude171
Well maybe they would've kept some momentum if the defense stepped up and made a stop. Quote Link to comment
no placebo husker
I thought that also, however, if that's what getting an edge has come down to then we're all done for. Quote Link to comment

No... the long delay was in the first half - late 1st, mid 2nd qtr? I'm pretty sure that was the play. It was right after we scored our 1st TD. One of our players apparently fell on top of him. no placebo husker
The delay I'm speaking was in the 1st half, it was the 1st long injury time-out and happened on a neb kickoff and i believe it was number 23 for USC. The score was 10-7 or 14-10 at that time. Quote Link to comment
rawhide
I'm sure the training staff was playing it safe. The trachea is an important tube to keep open. The bruising on the larynx could have caused enough swelling to occlude his airway making it a life threatening situation. GBR Quote Link to comment
