What goes on during halftime?

It seemed like we actually played with some intensity in the first half today and if it weren't for turnovers had a good chance to go into the locker room ahead at the half. Then in the second half, we look like a completely different football team, no intensity. At least this was the impression given over the radio. I wasn't at the game.

Any ideas on what the coaching staff's approach is at halftime? I know some posters have friends on the team and they probably wouldnt share what goes on in the locker room, but I'd like to get a general impression of how during almost every game we manage to go from decent to bad, or bad to worse during the half.

Maybe the coaches ream the players for not following Billy's messed up offense, and Coz's lame defense. Instead of making adjustments and firing up the players the coaches demean them, Hell, that would cause anyone to give up and feel like a big ol pile of Callahan. :bang

Unfortunately I think you're probably just about exactly right. It's not hard to imagine BC yelling at everyone just like he yells at the refs all through the game. Sort of reminds me of my wife. :hmmph

Huskers looked good/improved in the first half without Callahan making the calls, he probably took over in the second half because he thought we had the momentum to go ahead. It seemed he tried to take more credit than he deserved at the half, didn't he say something like 'nothing has changed in the play-calling except Watson is getting more exposure'...? So he started making the stupid offensive calls and dropped the defense that he was supposed to be concentrating on.

The defense got worse in the second half so it follows that he started being offense play caller and gave the defense back to Cosgrove. Thus going back to business as usual.

Maybe "Pat-a-cake" is going on at halftime?

"Pat-a-cake" = is often accompanied by hand-clapping between two people, a clapping game known as pat-a-cake (also rendered as patty-cake or pattycake), after the rhyme. It alternates between a normal individual clap with two-handed claps with the other person. The hands may be crossed as well. This allows for a possibly complex sequence of clapping that must be coordinated between the two.
