HuskerKing130
You'll find that coaches at big-name schools with a long history of success tend to get paid more than coaches at schools who didn't even play football in 1996. Since when has Bill Callahan had a long history of success? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Is it just me or does it seem as though the players and coaches hate the idea of tradition and thats what is truly getting under there skin? Must be - can't be the blowout losses, media and fan scrutiny, or firing turmoil at all. They just hate the Husker tradition...that must be it. Since when has Bill Callahan had a history of success? He's coached an NFL team to the Super Bowl. Yeah, okay - that's a little more successful than some of these coaches with bare resumes who a lot of board members are pushing for the HC job right now. But the point was, he's the coach at Nebraska - which does have a history of success. And whoever the Nebraska coach is is going to get paid more than whoever the USF coach is. Which makes comparing salaries relative to success between these programs a moot point. Quote Link to comment
HuskerKing130
Callahan won the Super Bowl b/c of the team that Gruden had built up, not b/c of superior coaching ability. Didnt the Raiders go 4-12 the next year? Bill Callahan has a history of not getting the job done. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Okay: I thought great talent + poor coaching = bad results? And Pete Carroll had a 33-31 record in the NFL, after following Bill Parcells and inheriting the Super Bowl team he had built up. He was also fired. So you could say, he has a history of not getting the job done either. Quote Link to comment
gratefulhusker
I don't like this report (if true) as much as any of you - but, well, forgive the players if this season has been a little ridiculously hard on them and if the fans have been as friendly and supportive as a torch-toting murderous mob. I seemed to have misplaced my torch. Quote Link to comment
husker4
1.7 GPA, no respect for anyone but himself, f'ing sucks at football, and hes making our program look like trash. Where the hell is the tradition. Saturday made me f'ing sick and we need to change this. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
That was plain uncalled for. And a disgusting thing to say. I'm sorry, I hope nobody agrees with you. Quote Link to comment

gratefulhusker
It's one thing to say McKeon wears a pink polo shirt with his collar popped...it's an entirely different matter to pull what you just did. Quote Link to comment

Darthhusker
Wow. Maybe he just needs to stay out of the bars. What is the minimum gpa to play? You would think it would be above a 2.0. That's what the high schools have. Quote Link to comment
husker4
I'm sorry, I changed my title. I am just so furious at this whole situation, and some of our players. Quote Link to comment
TrueHuskerFan
I'm with Christian Peter on this one. At the Blackshirt round table referring to 13's infamous "It's not fun anymore," press conference, he said 13 "Should just walk off the team right now." Quote Link to comment
