New RULE - effective now - please read

Effective Immediately:

Posts that do not fit within the general theme of the original topic will be moved or deleted, at the discretion of the Moderators. If a mod takes action on one of your posts, consider that a warning. Members who show a pattern of violating this rule with complete disregard will risk temporary or permanent account suspension. If you notice your post moved and don’t understand why, feel free to ask one of the Mods or myself.

 

Here’s an example:

 

Topic: Why don’t we have a new WR coach yet?

#1) I really think we need to get one appointed ASAP!!

 

#2) Acceptable response: Im not sure this is the most important thing going on right now, and could be waiting for the bowl games and NFL playoffs to finish.

 

#3) Unacceptable response: Probably b/c Steve Pedersen and Callahan don’t know their heads from their a**es and couldn’t find their way out of a San Diego snowdrift.

 

#4) Acceptable response to Post #2: Well it sure should be. Who do we have recruiting those Top Gun WR’s we need so desperately??!!

 

#3 in the above example is considered “smack”, and should be posted in the ‘Smack Someone’ forum.

 

Debate is Good!!

We are definitely NOT discouraging debate. We feel both sides to an argument are crucial for a healthy discussion, and boards that don’t allow both sides to be expressed freely do not truly represent the “Heartbeat of Husker Nation”, which we strive to do. However, not all topics need to gravitate toward a negative tone about one’s overall disagreement with the program, which we have received numerous complaints about. See #4 above for an illustration of an acceptable response/counter to a topic. This fits with the general theme of the original topic posted, and is not posted purely for the sake of being negative.

 

Again, we have no problem with strong convictions from both sides of the fence, and this board is the place for expressing those feelings – this is merely an effort to keep things more organized.

 

We feel this will allow members that prefer not to get involved in particular discussions to avoid them, and encourage a larger number of members to engage in discussion without fear that their topic will be overwhelmed with a completely different direction/"hijacked".

We all benefit from this board, so we all need to work together to help keep this place high quality. If you notice posts “out of bounds”, please use the ‘report’ button included at the top of every post. This will notify the Mods, and we will investigate further.
