kramer
Jordan Congdon may actually be the biggest recruit in this class. NU isn't just going to start beating the crap out of teams. Just like in 1993, NU will have some "squeekers" on the road back. A clutch field goal kicker is a necessity. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Callahan says Congdon could have gone anywhere he wanted. But he chose Nebraska. He comes from a great family in San Diego. As far as a kicker he's very accurate, and has a great leg. He will compete for a job right away. Quote Link to comment
BelieveN
1) very very accurate with a huge leg. 2) 8, we missed quite a few field goals last ear that were significant during the game. 3) for god sakes he should be the starter right when he steps on campus. 4) Reminds me of Kris Brown (good days) 5) in the NFL draft Quote Link to comment
Benard
I think he'll have a tough time beating out dyches but I thought that about deangelis and callahan still played him so who knows. Quote Link to comment
joshuavacek
I bet he walks right in to the starting Kicker position. How could he not??? Quote Link to comment
oviedol55
1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)? Great kicker. Hit a 53 yarder and is the leading scorer in California kicker history I believe. Smart kid. Apparently a bit of an introvert. Said he stayed in his hotel room with his girl most of the All American weekend. Roomed with Reggie, we coulda used them two hanging out. 2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important). 9. That's like a 12 for a kicker. 3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity? Of course. This is a no contest that he'll be starting. 4) Who does this player most remind you of? John Carney. That's his mentor. 5) Where do you see this player in 2009? In the NFL. He's not Nungent or Janikowski, but he'll be our fourth starting kicker/punter in the NFL along with Kris Brown, Josh Brown and Kyle Larson. Quote Link to comment

He's not Nungent or Janikowski The kid doesn't drink or anything, so we don't have to worry about that. The kids pretty religious. One of the reasons he committed to NU was because of the community Service Nu partakes in. Quote Link to comment
joshuavacek
Everything you want in a kicker, teammate, and person. Class Act. Quote Link to comment
hoyamannn
Could be our biggest factor this year. Quote Link to comment
joshuavacek
Yes, our kicking game sucked last year. Every time we made a little dirve and could put some points on the board and get some momentum, we missed the field goal. I bet Congdon walks right in and starts. He is suspose to have a big leg. TrueHuskerFan
STUD KICKER. Say hello to the 50+ yd. field goal again. Still waiting..... We need to be able to make a 40 yard field goal. Every great team can at least make that and kick touchbacks on a consistent basis... IMO we can't be great without a stronger kicker. Quote Link to comment
