Blackshirt
Damn Jersey kids. NU wrestler-QB cited for assault at party BY LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR Nebraska quarterback and wrestler Ryan Goodman has been cited for assault for allegedly hitting another man in the face last month, according to Lincoln police reports. On Feb. 26, Goodman was at a party in the 3000 block of North Third Street, according to Lincoln police Capt. Allen Soukup. People who lived there reported that the party got out of control at about 2:15 a.m., and that party-goers were breaking furniture. The residents tried to get everyone to leave, including Goodman, who'd apparently been on top of a kitchen table, Soukup said. During the commotion, Goodman allegedly hit a 19-year-old man in the face. Soukup said the victim suffered a 1-inch cut above one eye, and required stitches. Goodman, 19, from Absegami, N.J., was the third-string quarterback for the Huskers for most of the 2004 season, but was the backup to Joe Dailey to start the year. Goodman played only briefly in the season-opener against Western Illinois, completing the only pass he threw for no gain. Goodman came to NU as a scholarship wrestling recruit after winning a pair of New Jersey state titles — in 2004, he was 39-0 at 189 pounds and in 2003 went 32-2 at 171 — for Absegami High School. This season, he has been a backup to 197-pound All-American B.J. Padden. Quote Link to comment

joshuavacek
I don't think Goodman will be in the picture this year anyways. It sucks he had to bring bad press to the program on his way out of the football program. Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red
Is he moving positions? Saw a headline somewhere. I believe someone said DB, most likely FS...right? Quote Link to comment

rawhide
I assume the Constitution of the US does not apply to people charged with a crime and they play college sports. This might be different from the Incognito case or maybe not. I dont believe BC will keep him on the team if circumstances warrant it. IMO GBR Quote Link to comment
