Red November
Redshirt freshman Lance Brandenburgh is likely No. 1 at middle linebacker going into the spring?? Is this true, I just read this in an Omaha article. You don't think one of those juco's will start? Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Many of us have speculated the Bradley would move to the middle, but a couple of months ago BC said that (at least for the moment) that Bradley will stay at SAM. By the fall, Moore will very likely be the starter at MIKE with Brandenburg and Dillard as backups. Quote Link to comment
Red November
Dillard starts from the beginning. Hands down, best prospect we have at MLB Quote Link to comment

kramer
With Bradley, Moore, Octavian, Brandenburgh, Ruud, Dillard, (Bungardt? McKeon?) it seems that we have pretty decent talent and depth, at least on paper. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt34
I would also go with Dillard at MLB, he brings a more athletic game to our defense. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
I would also go with Dillard at MLB, he brings a more athletic game to our defense. I think Dillard is the future, but I doubt he plays this year. MLB needs to be the rock out there and it is hard to have a true freshman be the center of the defense unless he is absolutely prepared for it. A true freshman playing MLB is a rarity. I look for Stew Bradley or Brandenburgh or Donrell Moore if he isn't going to play SAM. Quote Link to comment
joshuavacek
I agree it is tought to walk in as a freshman, but I think Dillard could do it and resurrect the BLACKSHIRTS. Quote Link to comment
BelieveN
my sisters is friends with this guy he is from KC and i hear that he parties at KU Â i think steve octavien will start Quote Link to comment
hoyamannn
my sisters is friends with this guy he is from KC and i hear that he parties at KUÂ i think steve octavien will start Steve's already slotted for WILL isn't he? Â I don't think there's a chance Dillard starts from the beginning. MIKE has to make all the changes and read the offense so he has to know a great deal about the formations and shifts, and that's way too much for a freshman to pick up in just a few weeks of practice. I could see Dillard starting by the middle of the year if he's a quick learner. Quote Link to comment
Benard
right now steve is 1 at will, bradley 1 at sam, and mckeon 1 at mike. Quote Link to comment
Gman
Brandenburgh, i acutally know his sister pretty well, im a few years older than lance, but i remember playing against him when i was in Highschool, hes a good player i havent really followed his experances at nebraska, but from my little college football experance is that anytime a school brings in juco transfers, its more than likely that thoes juco's will play, but i know there have been alot of differnt cases in football. \ Â Its extremly hard for a freshman to start and live up to other blackshirts. he will get playing time at nebraska but i dout he will be starting this season. Â And about him partying in lawrence, i would have to agree on that, i party in lawrence when i get the chance, its fun but not as fun as the market in lincoln, his sister also goes to KU. Â im out Gman Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt34
I also think Dillard will have the starting spot by the time the season rolls around. Dillard's abilities and athleticism are what the defense needs to improve upon from last year. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
He certainly seems to be overlooked right now. Without a doubt he sees some time on special teams. Hopefully he sticks with it and just keeps trying. Quote Link to comment
