DJR313 Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I had a chance to golf with Pat Behrns at a UNO charity event this summer and I had asked him about that very thing. He stated that through all the places he has coached, the way the walk-on program devours players that d2 and d3 could use is incredible and unlike any other place in America. It really makes their jobs difficult to recruit when kids would rather walk on for Big Red than take a scholarship over to UNO or Chadron. He said he had a hard time filling out his most recent class because many of the kids opted to go to Lincoln. I don't wish ill-will on UNO football, but I'd rather see them slide than the Huskers. Hardly anyone notices UNO when they are good anyways. Quote Link to comment
