Husker_Power
Has anyone heard anything about Standhardinger though?? Sadler's recruiting class has surprise 4th player When basketball’s early signing period began Wednesday, it seemed a mere formality that Nebraska coach Doc Sadler would announce three known oral commitments. Surprise! Sadler signed four players to his 2009-10 recruiting class, the unknown player a 6-foot-8, 210-pound wing player from Germany named Christian Standhardinger. He’s a former teammate and roommate to current Husker Christopher Niemann. “He’s a very, very athletic kid,” said Sadler, who first saw Standhardinger while he was recruiting Niemann in Germany. Assistant coach David Anwar then saw Standhardinger play at a tournament last winter in Bristol, Tenn., where he led his team to a fourth-place finish and was the only player on his team named to the all-tournament team. In the finals of the 2008 U19 German Championship, Standhardinger scored 37 points and had 12 rebounds. He was also the leading scorer at the Europe’s Best Junior Tournament in 2007 and was the MVP of the German Top 4 in 2007. Of course, Niemann’s involvement with that club team, on which other players were paid, cost him a year of eligibility. He’s sitting out this season per an NCAA ruling and will return next year as a sophomore. Sadler acknowledged Nebraska could be facing the same situation with Standhardinger. “I don’t know,” Sadler said. “We’ll worry about that in August. We’ll see what happens. Obviously, it’s an issue at this point.” for the rest of the article here's the Link. Quote Link to comment
