topekahusker Posted December 6, 2008 Share Posted December 6, 2008 My favorite travel message board that I belong to is tripadvisor.com I've posted the link to JAX but you 'may' have to register to visit but it has always been free. In fact, they send me travel related 'stuff' when I provide reviews of my trips. Jax residents appear to be very active on here and they offer up a lot of suggestions/recomendations. There wasn't ONE caveat about 'safety concerns'. In fact they encourage walking around downtown. IveAbigN Posted December 7, 2008 Share Posted December 7, 2008 I went to watch CU play FSU in Jacksonville back in September and hung out all day at The Landing. It is pretty much a congregation of restaraunts and bars with several outdoor kiosks serving up your favorite beverage. You can take launches or busses from the landing to the stadium as well. I'm staying at the Hampton directly across from DT and about 3 blocks from the river- is the Landing on the other side (DT) of the river? Quote Link to comment
