2010 Prospects w/out Offers

(So the answer to the question "is there a maximum post size?" is apparently yes, so I've moved prospects who do not have a known offer from Nebraska here.)

Maybe the next DL to be offered?

Cali DL up to three offers

Defensive lineman Justin Utupo is one of five high-level D-I prospects at Lakewood (Calif.). The talented lineman had a huge junior season and should be a national recruit by the summer.

Utupo played all over the defensive line a year ago and totaled 78 tackles, 30 for loss with 10 sacks. The tackles for loss were a league high.

On the recruiting front, Utupo has offers from Utah, Washington State and Oregon State and is also hearing from Notre Dame, UCLA, Washington, San Diego State, Oregon, Idaho, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State and Nebraska.

"I grew up a USC fan and I still like them a lot," Utupo said. "I also like UCLA, Texas Tech, Cal and BYU, that's my top five right now. Right now I'm lifting hard and doing a lot of SPARQ training to improve my quickness.

"I'm hoping a few more schools offer and I'm in no hurry to commit anywhere. I just want to wait it out and see what options I have and then pick a school based on a location I'm comfortable with and where I'll fit in the best."

Bennett poised for big senior year

QB Bryan Bennett (Encino, Calif./Crespi) has emerged over the last two years as one of California's top quarterback prospects. He earned all-state underclass honors as a sophomore and followed it up with a solid junior season.

Bennett threw for 1,650 yards and 10 touchdowns last season after throwing for 2,133 yards and 17 touchdowns the previous season. With just about everyone on the roster coming back next fall, look for Bennett to have a huge senior year.

"I think Bryan has some real potential," former NFL standout signal caller and Bennett's current quarterback coach Erik Kramer said. "He's an excellent athlete, strong and wirey and plays with a lot of fire. He has a good frame and a live arm. We're working on his mechanics right now to help his balance and also to get him more fluid, accurate and anticipatory, but I like him a lot."

Bennett is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but is hearing from a host of schools right now.

"Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Boise State are all showing interest," Bennett said. "I like the Pac 10 a lot and my top five right now would be Arizona, Cal, ASU, Oregon and USC. I'm not sure about my summer camp plans, but I know I'll be going to the Nike Camp at USC in April."
