The Forgotten Right

"I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here:

'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.'

'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.'

'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'

'Shut up! Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control. Here's Love Connection. Watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you f'ing morons.'" - Bill Hicks

:laughpound Did you miss the whole conversation? There is no "National Civilian Defense Force." They are not going to be trained just like the military. You did use Obama's words...entirely out of context. I hope everyone else is getting as big of a kick out of this as I am. Talk about your willful ignorance . . .

Ehhh...all those facts and stuff aren't important.

What is important is that Obama is the anti-Christ and soon the rapture will take place.

Whose side are YOU on?

The side of righteous infallibility of course! :cheers

Wow! I feel like I missed a real battle here. correct me if I'm wrong but didn't this start out as SocialHusker supprting the evil idea of personal property ownership (bad SH what were you thinking) and Yuri Strigori vich pointing out the obvious chaotic nature such a fundamentally flawed ideal.

What is being championed is little more than chaos, and it would not surprise me to see the author start hoarding guns and building his own little fort to protect his property. And the whole argument is more or less void as it is rooted in the wrongly held view that:

"now for generations that property is about greed, that accumulating

property is oppression, or even that "property is theft."

I'm not sure what alternate reality the writing is actually living in, clearly not the one I inhabit. I have never heard anyone say anything even remotely close to that. And giving that the entire American culture is rooting in acquiring things, houses, cars, big screen tvs. And only those who would be decrying these things would be grouped into the category of 'hippies,' I'm not sure where he pulls that idea from.

Strigori,

Do me a favor, I want you to read the Communist Manifesto and then listen to Obama, Pelosi, etc give a speech. If you do this, over time, you'll begin to see exactly what the author is talking about.

Here's an example of what the author is talking about...

Okay. I'm a government agent and I'm coming for you. I'm taking your house, your car, your 52 inch flat screen HD television and all your other personal property and I'm going to redistribute those items to people who don't have them. Then, I'm going to take a look at what you make each month and then I'll decide what you should receive. Let's see, you make $4,500 per month so I'm taking 75% which equals $3,375. This means you'll have $1,125 for the month which is plenty for where you live. Then the $3,375 that I collect will be redistributed to others who have more of a need than you do.

Your example is absurd. A 3% change on income tax on the top 1% of wage earners, is a far cry from your example. And hardly Communist. Stop listening to the likes of Lembaugh and think for yourself. Nothing being done is communist. Communist is a scare word again. If you want to take a look at communism in action, look at Venezuela.

If we did things the neocon way(which is such a walk into hypocrisy considering neocons usually consider themselves Christians) we would have thousands of people starving to death, and dieing in back alleys from lack of medical care. So much better than medicare or foodstamps. Such is the price of living in a civilized nation.

Firstly, if the moral eficafy of taxation is base on percentage, what percentage equals communism?

Secondly, your dead on right, we shouldn't let Limbaugh et al speak their mind, surelly that must be uncontitutional because any person who has ever heard them speak is suddenly unable to form any opion of their own, I am so glad you took such a bold stand to save these poor soules from themselves.

Thirdly, I don't remember a time before medicare and foodstamps but grampa tells me that between fighting off dinosaurs and the black plague he often had to help cart away the thousands of dead bodies in the ally behind their mud hut.

You shouldn't be. How can people rationally discuss our democratically elected president when he is being compared to one of the biggest mass murderers in world history. (You don't have to argue that Hitler was democratically elected, the most he ever won was 28% of the votes.) Let me give you an example of a typical flow of a discussion.

Oz Husker - You are a guy. (I think.) - Hitler was a guy too! - OMG OMG! - Oz Husker is just like Hitler!

Ridiculous.

Actually, that's called a plurality, a common occurrence in a parlimentary "democracy". If it really bugs you let me know and I'll fire off a letter to the brits and let them know that the guy calling himself the Prime Minister is a fraud and maybe that limey SOB should get a real job (like community organizer).

If you answer yes to the first three questions and no to the second two then you seriously need to do some research on just exactly what Obama wants to do. Then, look into the people who he appointed as members of his cabinet and what they are trying to do. Trust me...it'll give you the creeps.

What I'm saying here guys is ask yourself some very basic questions about what you believe:

Do you believe in freedom? - Yes and that INCLUDES the freedom of choice and gays having the freedom to get married. Which is something a lot of conservatives have a problem with. So...where I put my penis is the extend of my liberties, okay, but out of curiousity why are we applying for liscenses to engage in an inalienable right? Just sayin.

Do you believe that individuals should be responsible for their own lives? - YES, See previous answer (Apparently only as relates to sexual congress) Seriouly, how is being granted a privalage ( or right if you prefer) an example of excercising personal responsibilty.

Do you think that the federal government has grown too large? - Yes, but again this is just schematics. Conservatives have certain areas of government that they like to keep huge. {i.e. the defense dept.}Sorry apparently I misread Art I Sect 8 my baaaaaad.

Do think that entitlement programs need to be expanded? - No with the exceptions of Social Security and a National health plan. Every other industrialized country can take care of their citizens {And I'm sure they have conservatives too} But I'm a firm believer in getting rid of corporate welfare( well except ACORN of course). So....Yes?

Do you think that the money you work so hard for should be taxed even more to fund entitlement programs? - Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Obama CUT taxes for most everybody? Not me.

HEREe's a quote by Martin Niemoeller I posted on another thread but I think it also bodes well with what we are discussing here . You could easily exchange each different affiliation (Communism, Socialism, etc...) with the freedoms being restricted today (right to bear arms, healthcare, etc...).

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

Savage much?

1. In what way in particular do you see this alleged transformation? Please, try to be specific. The "civilian army" youtube video has already been disproved. Obama was talking about an unarmed community service project similar to the CCC.

2. They are acting within the constitution. If they weren't, the action would be struck down by the Supreme Court.

Yeah, you know, like the Patriot Act was. No, let's forget that pesky Dred Scott thingy already shall we.

3. As long as we are laying it all out there I also despise the Obama is the savior/can do no wrong crowd. Obama (who I might add is MUCH MUCH smarter than all of us . . . head of his class at Harvard Law, wow!) does want what he feels is best for the US. Bush, likewise, wanted what he thought was best for the US. I have my own opinions of what is best for the US, and they don't align exactly with either.

Thanks, I haven't had my IQ assed since college. You're right though smart guys should rule it all, were'nt they intellectual elites the one who though ugenics was a pretty cool idea about a cntury ago, and that worked out pretty good, right?
