Husker Runner
Missouri (15-9 overall, 6-6 conference) at #10 Nebraska (16-6, 9-4) When: Wednesday, November 4th, 7:00pm CT Where: NU Coliseum, Lincoln, Nebraska TV: NET Video Webcast: CLICK HERE Audio Webcast: CLICK HERE Gametracker: Not available The Tigers have not beaten Nebraska since 2003 when they shocked the Huskers in a five-set thriller in Lincoln. Mizzou trails the all-time series 68-3-1, but two of the Tigers' three wins have come in Lincoln. Wednesday's match in Lincoln is the first of two straight contests against top 10 opponents for Missouri; they host #2 Texas in Columbia on Saturday. The Tigers would love to boost their NCAA tournament credentials with a win or two this week. Junior outside hitters Julianna Klein and Paola Ampudia make an effective one-two punch, combining for over 500 kills so far this seaon. Ampudia has been the Big 12 Player of the Week four times this season. Nebraska beat Missouri in their previous match this season on October 16th, winning 3-1 in Columbia. The Missouri roster includes two players from Nebraska: Senior MB Amanda Hantouli, Omaha (Omaha Burke HS) Junior MB Catie Wilson, Omaha (Omaha Gross HS) Quote Link to comment

Husker Runner
Huskers sweep the Tigers, 25-19, 25-16, 25-16. I caught about the last five points of the match. :-( Quote Link to comment
Husker Runner
Nebraska hit .451 tonight. Sounds like they were on top of their game. Quote Link to comment
Husker Runner
A great match in Ames going on right now. Iowa State won two of the first three sets over Texas. The Longhorns just took the fourth set, so it's going to five. Looks like the video is premium content on the ISU site, so I'll have to be content with live stats. ISU has really been coming on strong lately. I thought this would be the toughest match for Texas until deep into the NCAA tournament. Hooker has 24 kills through the first four sets. Husker Runner
Man, this match should have been televised. Texas up 9-6 in the 5th. Timeout Iowa State. 3708 in attendance, good crowd. Quote Link to comment
Husker Runner
Wow, ISU ties it up at 10. Quote Link to comment

Drowning_in_the_Sea_of_Red
Wow. Way to go Cyclones! That's going to make Saturday that much tougher for us. Their confidence has to be sky-high right now. Oh yeah, great win by the Huskers tonight, too! Quote Link to comment

Husker Runner
Video highlights of the Texas-ISU match can be seen here, including some cool shots of the Iowa State crowd rushing the court. Congrats to Christy Johnson-Lynch and the Cyclones! It's a shame this match between two top 10 teams was not on TV anywhere. Maybe the Huskers will catch ISU with a hangover on Saturday. With the ISU win, it would take an unlikely series of events (basically an Iowa State collapse) for Nebraska to get back to second place in the Big 12. The loss might be good for the Longhorns. It takes the pressure of being undefeated off of them, and might be the kick in the butt they need to really focus in the tournament. Remember a few years ago Nebraska lost a single match to an unranked Colorado team in five sets in Boulder, only to go on to win the National Championship. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I agree that this could be a blessing for Texas, HR. That undefeated streak can be as much of a burden as a blessing. Shocking, SHOCKING win by ISU last night. Stunning. To think where that program has been throughout its history, then to see them now... just amazing. CJ is probably my favorite Husker Setter of all time. She was always such a competitor, such a winner. It's great to see her translate that into coaching. Quote Link to comment
