AR Husker Fan
At Huskers.com the roster has 2-3 new guys that Coach Callahan mentioned in his postpractice. 1 long snapper freshman, 2 OL big doods one freshman and one JUCO. Maybe they are replacments for some that didnt make it. Is there an actual roster limit imposed by the NCAA? GBR The limit is no more than 85 players on scholarship. No limit, so far as I know, on total squad size (scholarshop and non-scholarship). Quote Link to comment
big poppa
There is a limit imposed by the NCAA until school starts (or later...it might be after Labor Day)...I believe it is 103....that is why it is so difficult for walkons to contribute to the program their first year the learning curve is difficult and they are 2-3 weeks behind the rest of the squad. StuckinChicago
105.... The reason that the five players were not yet academically cleared has been eluded to. Most of them (maybe all) allready know that they have been qualified, but they cant report until they have been induvidually evaluated by the NCAA academically. Since everyone of the 117 teams have at least 4 or 5 guys that need evaluation, that process can run over into fall practice. They will probably be notified by early next week at the latest.
