zoogs
Better receiving threats on the outside would not allow defenses to key in on and take out the TEs. Quote Link to comment
NUance
It’s not like this offense is a couple of little tweaks away from being good. We got many problems. Our offensive line stinks. We don’t have a QB who can throw the ball with any accuracy. Which doesn’t matter much, since none of our receivers can catch a ball worth a crap. Our RBs seem to fumble at the worst possible times. And when we don’t fumble you can count on a lineman or TE to jump offsides. You can’t pin *all* these things solely on Wats. But between Watson, Cotton and Gilmore, they damn well better figure how to fix some of the offensive crapola that we put on the field this year. It was pathetic. Quote Link to comment

The penalties seemed to get a tad better as the season went along. That's one I suppose you could attribute to better coaching. Still, Ben Cotton had a couple in the Texas game and I don't believe he said hello to the bench for it. McNeil was supposed to be the type of TE who could make plays regardless of being keyed in on (which had to have gone away, by the way, after we stopped throwing to him this year). The sheer number of issues the offense has leads you to believe coaching change is the only antidote. From game management to skills position to the trenches to penalties––like I said before, they are not good at a single thing. Not one single thing. Quote Link to comment
