BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Interesting article on how the coaches are able to recruit so many players in one class even with the "limits" in place: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=maisel_ivan&id=4899549 Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
Interesting that Sarkisian mentions USC at the end of the article, yet it's very rare to see USC recruit more than 18-20 players. In addition to their low numbers, over the last 5-10 years USC has put as many, if not more juniors into the NFL than any other team out there. I never understood how USC managed to keep 85 on scholarship. Do they have zero attrition or a spectacular walk-on program with players recieving scholarships later? Neither seems likely but I don't follow USC at all. According to Rivals they have 98 on their roster, NU has 99. Where are all the rest of USC's players coming from? Even if they redshirted that entire 2005 class, had zero attrition, and no one left for the NFL, their 2005-2009 numbers total only 3 more than their current roster. Over that same period NU signed 129 players. We have very few juniors leaving early for NFL, and award 1-3 walkons a scholarships per year. Does NU really have that much more attrition than USC? USC/NU 2010: 20/21 2009: 19/20 2008: 19/28 2007: 18/27 2006: 25/22 2005: 20/32 2004: 20/20 2003: 28/19 2002: 22/18 Quote Link to comment

Rivals roster is FAR off of the actual NU roster. There are currently 161 players listed on the official NU roster. Quote Link to comment
