RednScarlet
During a chat with an old friend, decided that 1969 saw probably the most albums released that influenced where rock music is today. We both graduated high school that year and both went overseas to do our 'Time'. Groups that debuted on album that year: Led Zepplin Blind Faith Crosby,Stills and Nash King Crimson James Gang Santana Doobie Bros. Allman Bros. Chicago The Band Grand Funk Warren Zevon Yes Youngbloods Probably missed some, just going through my album 'stack'. All in all, a great year for rock music. 2 Quote Link to comment
holvy83
Great list! I will agree that most of the bands have a heavy influence on bands that are successful today, but since I did not come from that generation can not put my vote up for best "year" in music. Quote Link to comment
Manhattan
Yes. It is weird how 1969 brought out the best and absolute worst of the 1960s, almost in chronological order of the year - from best to worst. The early '70s were still very '60s though, like the early '60s were very '50s. Quote Link to comment
