Pete Carroll comments on Bo Pelini

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately he made some very positive comments about a coach that shall not be mentioned.

Really? What positivity could've been said about that debacle?

They were friends too and had a good deal of mutual respect.

Not sure what some have against Pete. I've always admired him as a coach, his approach to the game. Seems to work very well at the college level (I know, sanctions, sanctions). But he always seemed like a fun-loving, good personality coach who was a benefit to the college game. Too bad he'll have more trouble in the pro's.

But like others have said, you can't really use this as validation since he would say something positive regardless, just as a coach talking to the media.

I can't remember where I read it at, but it was another forum and someone had a Pete Carroll quote in their sig. It was something to the effect of:

"I don't think there was a better defense than what Bo Pelini put out on the field towards the end of this season. I'm just glad we didn't have to play them."

Apparently he said this at the BCS Championship game in Pasadena to the Game Day crew.

I was really hoping that USC would beat Arizona to play us in the Holiday Bowl. I wanted a little payback for the 2007 beat down. Then again I would feel bad seeing 18 year old Matt Barkley formally meet Suh, Crick, Allen, and Turner. :w00t
