huskerdavo
Guess what both our star returners were Huskers last year...thank god we didnt need them last year Quote Link to comment
AF_Husker
Nunn was a primary reciever, and learning the West Coast offense as a reciever was his first goal. Grixby was also new and had to learn a new defensive scheme. Both, from what I hear, had problems catching last year as well, which they worked on during spring, summer, and fall. StuckinChicago
Not to mention our coverage is MUCH better last year. Green and Bowman are very physical with the opposing gunners and if you didnt notice, Nunn and Grixby could catch the ball and run for about 8 or 9 yards, which is more than Panico averaged, before they saw a blue jersey. The blocking was tons better, the returning was a little better. Quote Link to comment

That's about the only thing I can think of. It would have to be them failing to catch the punts because it doesn't take a whole lot of studying to return punts. Quote Link to comment

You can't tell me they couldn't catch a punt consistently. If they couldn't I'm sure someone could that didn't have cement blocks on their legs. That was terrible. Quote Link to comment

Don't forget it was maine though, as far as the coverage and blocking. our returns will be ton better without panico but don't expect it to be like last week with little maine. The coverages will be alot better. Quote Link to comment
