dergibog
Does anybody else wonder why our big guys don't finish under the basket? Seems like we're always putting up a layup instead of just flushing it. Man, if you're pushing 7 feet tall, just dunk the thing and head down and play defense while the Red Zone goes ape and the crowd (that's a relative term) cheers. Quote Link to comment
bball_backer
Heard Eric Piatkowski on the radio the other day. He said he's asked assistant coaches multiple times at practices if Diaz can dunk. They told him they ask him that every single day at practice, the kid just doesn't have the fire. He went on to say if someone could light a fire under Diaz, he would have every NBA scout drooling - he said Diaz may be about the most skilled 6'11" player he's ever seen... wouldn't millions of dollars motivate you to flush a few??? As for the other big guys - they don't even jump. Watching Ubel is extremely frustrating, he finishes like a girl. Jumps just enough to barely get his toes off the ground. Why is a coach not drilling these guys all practice long, making them get off the ground. They rebound the same way (see: McCray, Walker and occasionally Jeter outrebounding the almost-7-footers every single game). Quote Link to comment
dergibog
Diaz definitely doesn't have that fire. There was a loose ball against Eastern Washington, and he just stood there and looked at it. Wow. He put in some goofy looking shots over his left shoulder, but he drew the foul and made the free throw Quote Link to comment
