ohiohusker
I work for an optometrist in eastern Ohio, and was recording a patient's information into the computer one day last week. I noticed his social security number began with the numbers '508' and asked if he was born in Nebraska. He said he was born and raised in Tekamah. I shook his hand right away and told him that I was born and raised in Omaha. I have the stadium as my screensaver on my computer and quickly showed him and said, "Go Big Red". He then proceeded to tell me that he had played on the team in 1941-1942! Being 87 years old he was a little forgetful about details back in those days, but he sure smiled when he talked about it! He was #26 and played for 2 years before transferring to Stanford. He then moved out here after the war. It was so interesting to talk to him, and when I asked if he is still a Husker or a Buckeye.....he smiled and said, "maybe a little of both"! Quote Link to comment
