Indeed, on March 16, Knott’s NASCAR amendment had nothing to do with being a redneck race fan. Instead, he was using it to illustrate how in the sport, drivers publicize their sponsorships on their cars and jackets. It was a metaphor for how politicians should be transparent about who is sponsoring them — in other words, who’s buying them off. Link to comment
