TGHusker Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 This is kind of a personal topic for anyone brave enough to bare their soul a bit. Have any of you gone through what one old saint describe as the "Dark Night of the Soul" (St John of the Cross)? It is a period in life in which you have no 'sense' of God's presence, your prayers seem to hit a glass ceiling, joy is low and hope seems even lower. It is the Job (the Old Testiment guy, not the work ) experience. A life once going on cruise control, is now for what seems to be no fault of one's own is filled with much difficulty. I'm curious as to other guys' experience with this, how they eventually pulled out of it and how they 'got out' of it and any insights/lessons learned. I've been going through it and feel like I'm starting to come out and getting the day back in the soul. Link to comment
