Another if: if we beat UCLA, there's a good chance we'll be ranked very high by the time we go to Ann Arbor.

What good would that do us if we crap down our leg like we did the last time?

It would be kind of neat for a few weeks, other than that, I got nothing.

With the young players, it would do a lot of for their mental state going into Ann Arbor ranked pretty high and undefeated rather than worrying about holding it together and being the reason the team loses another opportunity to get to a BCS bowl. I'm sure they will hear all the pundits and fans throughout the whole year, doubt they would take any significant step forward due to their youth. We all know that the offense will be the strong unit for the team. We know that the defense will be faster. So if they can be more sound and consistent in tackling, that would be a huge step forward from last year.

Sorry. It will do nothing for the mental state of the young players. If anything, this coaching staff gets more out the team when their backs are against the wall. Don't get me wrong. I hope they are undefeated and stay that way not just this year but every year. But going into Ann Arbor undefeated does nothing for them. At least not in recent history.

How high you think we'd be undefeated going into November matchup?

5-10ish, depending on how many undefeated teams there are.

It also might depend on how we won the games to remain undefeated.
