Guy Chamberlin
It kinda comes with the territory. But there are people in supporting roles in all kinds of business who choose the supporting role and behind the scenes work because they just aren't comfortable facing the public. Hell, the vast majority of people don't like submitting their work to public judgement and fear public speaking above all else. It's definitely part of the head coach job description, especially when you're representing an entire state. Not so much an assistant or coordinator. I'm sure a lot of great football minds work at the opposite end of the public relations spectrum, and don't aspire to head coaching for a reason. I'd also suggest it's different being razzed at school for your father's public actions than it is for your hairdo or car or something else over which you have control. That everyone gets picked on at some point doesn't mean there aren't degrees of frustration or embarrassment. Quote Link to comment
