The response I’ve received from Husker fans: Stop writing about Bo changing. We hear this every year. We don’t want to read about it anymore. It won’t matter.

This startled me. Maybe it shouldn’t have. It may be a minority voice or a sample size of something larger. Maybe some people just don’t like cats. I can relate.

And now I hear more fans than ever listing reasons why things won’t work this season rather than why they will. That used to be our job.

» If there’s apathy, it wasn’t here Friday. The fan day crowd was as strong as ever, with folks still waiting in line to come in for more than an hour. Kids and parents wore jerseys and played catch with footballs. And everyone had a smile.

It looked like August in Nebraska.

I wish they still thought it was their job. The North Korea theme in the media is growing away from sad and pollenating to pathetic.
