Q&A with Nebraska cornerback Josh Mitchell

Q: Where do you feel like this defense is at compared to the last two or three years that you’ve seen early on in far camp?
A: Compared to the last couple years, we’re a lot farther because a lot of the young guys that are here now played a lot last year. So they have a lot of game experience, and usually when you come into a fall camp, you have a lot of young guys that haven’t played yet. But fortunately for us, we had a lot of young guys that did play a lot last year.

Q: And what about from the top unit?
A: It looks really good right now. Like I said, we can always get better, but we’re pretty comfortable with each other as a (No.) 1 unit. Right now we’re really just focusing on trying to bring the other guys that are working with us, bring them up and catch them up to our pace, so we can know that when we sub in the game, the guy going in is just as capable as we are.

Not much talk about Mitchell but he's one of the key players on D. And I think he'll benefit from an improved D-line as compared to last year. (The D-line can make cornerbacks look great. Or not.)
