Did you see this coming?

Watching the game last night, it felt to me that the Spartans stole McNeese St.'s defensive game plan, executed it just as well, and because MSU has better talent than McNeese, it worked all the better. So here is my question. The McNeese game showed how to stop our offense. It was bound to be imitated at some point. Don't you think as a coach, you'd think, "wow, they really stopped us, lets devise a plan to counter that defensive plan should it show it's ugly head again?" They should have had an offensive plan to counter it in their back pocket regardless.

The quotes from the players showed that not only did the players not know what and how to do, but Beck, had no clue at all. No plan B. He expected to show up, work the run game and go from there. Lots of flack on the O-line, but when the defense was loading the box and blitzing every down, there's only so much they can do.

Where was the middle screen, why can't Tommy read through progressions, why does Tommy not read the defensive end on the zone read plays? Why wasn't there a plan in place to counter their over aggressiveness.

We left so much out there. It felt just like last year only our offense went inept instead of turnover crazy. We are more than capable talent-wise of beating them. Why the heck can't our OC adjust?
