Never finishes with a losing record in his 10 seasons as coach, wins '71, '72 National Titles. 1973 Tom Osborne is named Devaney's successor and never has a losing record through November in his 24 seasons as head coach. Wins '94, '95, '97 National Titles. 1997 Tom Osborne retires as the winningest head coach in Nebraska football history and names Frank Solich as his successor. 2002 Frank Solich goes 7-6 through November.2003 Frank Solich is fired after going 9-3, never finishes with a losing record through November.2004 Bill Callahan finished 5-6 first losing season in 43 years dating back to pre-Devaney, 1961.2007 Bill Callahan finished 5-7 and is relieved of duty.2008 Bo Pelini is hired, goes 9-4, 8-4 all the way through November2014 Bo Pelini is fired with a 9-3 record. Never finishes with a losing record through November.2015 Mike Riley is hired and is 3-6 in his first year, could be facing 2 more additional losses which would leave Nebraska at 3-9, the worst record in 54 years dating back to 1961.
