This is too bad. Obv shouldnt have had guns to begin with, but mix that with alcohol and bad things happen. Just ask Jayson Williams.

PULLMAN -- A Washington State University student died in his apartment early Friday when he was shot while roughhousing with his roommate, Pullman police said.

Joseph N. Tibbs, 20, of Pullman died shortly after he was taken to Pullman Memorial Hospital.

Police arrested his 21-year-old roomate for investigation of second-degree manslaughter.

Police said the roommate told them the .22-caliber semiautomatic discharged when the two were engaged "in what was described as horseplay" around 2 a.m.

The roommate, who had been drinking, said the gun discharged after he kicked it from Tibbs' hand, police said.

Police found two other guns in the apartment.

Washington State University President V. Lane Rawlins expressed condolences to the family of the victim and offered any help the police needed.

"We hope that all our students will find an important and somber lesson in this tragic death and will determine to be careful and use good judgment as they move forward," Rawlins said in a statement.
