The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Maye averaged 36 points a game this season for Farmville Central High and had single-game totals of 51, 43 and 40 points. He also averaged seven rebounds and four assists. As a junior, Maye averaged 25 points in leading his team to the Class 2A state championship and was voted tourney MVP. He was the only returning starter this season as Farmville Central finished 14-9. He scored 34 points in the game in which his team was eliminated in tourney play. Maye has scholarship offers from Nebraska, Kansas State, East Carolina, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina and Winthrop. He has drawn interest from Virginia, Clemson and Providence. Nebraska coach Tim Miles can’t comment on specific recruits but cited two specific needs in spring recruiting with four scholarships open. “Regardless of anything, we need another perimeter shooter,” he said. “And now we need another big guy to help Jordy,” referring to freshman center Jordy Tshimanga. 1 Quote Link to comment
