Doonesbury's famed Walden College has been rocked by allegations of sexual assault involving a woman and the football team. "And she's not the first woman to come forward," Boopsie (Barbara Ann Boopstein), a sometimes actress who has taken over her husband's role as football coach at the college while he serves in Iraq, tells the Rev. Sloan, a fixture at Walden. Tuesday, Boopsie pondered suspending the program pending an investigation. To which Sloan worried about the new football stadium. While the crisis is at Walden, not CU, the parallels are hard to miss. CU hasn't gone unnoticed by Jay Leno or his joke writers. Here are some recent offerings from his show: • The CU football team has signed a big TV deal. All of their games will be on Court TV next season. • You all ready for when Mardi Gras, starts Tuesday? That's when you drink, have sex with people you don't know, women walk by and flash you. You feel like a football recruit at the University of Colorado. • Give you an idea how bad it is, today the Taliban denounced the University of Colorado for their treatment of women.
