Roxy15 Posted September 12, 2020 Share Posted September 12, 2020 White Bread: 1 cup lukewarm water 2 teaspoons white sugar 2 envelopes traditional active dry yeast 12 cups flour 3 tablespoons.shortening 1 tablespoon salt 3 tablespoons white sugar 4 cups lukewarm water Add the 1 cup lukewarm water, 2 teaspoons sugar and yeast in bowl and let rise 15 minutes. In a large bowl, add flour, shortening, salt, sugar, water and yeast mixture. Mix and Knead dough for 15 minutes. Add kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Flip dough over to grease other side. Cover bowl with a towel and let rise for 1-1/2 hours in a warm place. When dough rises ,punch dough down amd let rise again for 1-1/2 hours. Grease pans. After the rising place dough in pans. Cover pans and let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from pans onto a wire rack and butter tops. (You get 5 loaves from this recipe depending on pan size.) ***If you only want to make 5 Loaves, use the recipe posted, I just doubled all the ingredients and made 10 Loaves Quote Link to comment
