Peach Upside Down Cake::


3/4 cup butter divided
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches
3/4 cup white sugar 
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1 1/4 tsp baking powder 
1/2 cup milk

 

Melt 1/4 cup butter and put in a greased 9-inch round pan.

 

Sprinkle brown sugar on top then arrange sliced peaches. 


Cream remaining butter and white sugar.

 

Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder alternately with milk. Beat well.

 

Spoon over peaches and bake about 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

 

  Let cool 10 minutes before inverting onto serving plate.
