  1. Forgot to mention we met Ron Dayne at breakfast at Dennys Saturday morning. Another group of Husker fans were able to get some photos with him. Seemed pretty nice.
  2. It was a great first trip to Madison for me. Ran into a few fu husker comments but most of the people were great. We met some friends (Wisconsin fans) and we will stay in touch for upcoming games. Bars were great before the game, after the game was over crowded everywhere we went. We sat on the 45 yardline on the Wisconsin side line about 27 rows up. Great seats and we were surrounded by some of the best fans Wisconsin had to offer. We cheered, they cheered. It was a blast. Noone said anything rude to us during or after the game. I think the boys earned some respect for sure. Will go back to Madison for sure.
  3. I think it will be interesting to see how we attack that hybrid 3-4 defense that places a lot of edge pressure as well as interior congestion for the run game. IMO we have the receivers to really spread out their defense and we may find some success running a few stretch plays if we can go inside their backers if they rush up field. It could be the pass game opening up the run and if that is the case, Tommy could be the player that has the most impact. Can their high safety cover the slot if they stay in base D or will they have to switch to their 3-3 nickel package? That could be a key matchup for sure. Love having Westy back. Defense is going to get tested for sure, hopefully we can shut down the run enough to make their play action ineffective and the Blackshirts have a huge day picking some easy throws from a young qb. #GBR
  4. I attended 3 Nebraska at CU games in the 90's...never had an issue. Folsom Field is stunning, I loved going there for games. I'm going to the Ohio State game next weekend and am genuinely concerned about taking my 11 year old son with me. My buddies who are Buckeye fans said it will be fine...but...don't let him go into a restroom without you. Umm..what? God, I loathe tOSU. Boulder is gorgeous just had problems with some fans when I was younger. Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin are 3 of the stadiums I just have to experience. Excited to cross UW off the list this weekend. I have heard OSU can be rough as well. Have fun at the OSU game!
  5. Before the game, the bars on State Street will be navigable. Not sure there's a designated Husker bar, but State Street Brats is kind of the one that visitors tend to congregate at. After the game, it will be very very very crowded on State St. (Freakfest) - There are bars nearer to the stadium on Regent St. that might be a bit less crowded, but probably still busy. Thanks! Looking forward to a great time!
  6. My wife and I are heading to Madison for the game and I was wondering if anyone knew where the "Husker" bar would be on state street? We are definitely not looking for any fights, just some fun and hopefully a Husker victory. The only place we have ever had a problem on the road was Boulder.....is Madison worse?
  7. Hey folks first post. Been a long time lurker for a few years and love reading what many of you have to say. My wife and I are heading to CR and we are hoping for a good game and lots of fun. We have been NU season ticket holders since 1995 and try to get to a couple road games a year. Looking forward to CR knowing it will be hostile but fun. I will try to update the board about our trip when we get back. We are in our mid 40s now so just looking for some fun fans to be around and a Husker victory. Thanks for sharing all the great things you all do! #GBR
  8. Sat behind his folks on the flight back from Fresno. They are great people that were super excited about their sons performance. I look forward to more slant patterns from Lane.
