  1. I remember loads of people changing their votes about 14 years ago with two teams who had the same records. Very few people want to watch Alabama vs LSU again, and now OSU has given the voters an excuse for moving OSU ahead of Alabama without having to feel too guilty about it. I think it's very possible. Having the terrible defense they have coupled with the ISU loss puts a tremendous amount of doubt out there. One more thing.... Without winning em all, they have nothing to cry about. (neither does Bama) OSU's body of work not that strong. TAMU win was weak, too....
  2. Okie state is a mile and a half behind with only a furlong to go. No chance even if it is 70-3.... JMO
  3. Oklahoma State is destroying Oklahoma: 41-3 in the 3rd quarter! This game is only going to get uglier!! I hope they score even more points that way they can make a solid case to play LSU in the MNC. Alabama had their chance and blew it. Give someone else a chance! (Clemson leads VT 31-10) For once we agree about something. I really don't want to see boring bowl II for the MNC game. I personally liked watching the Bama vs. LSU game. Went into OT. Often, rematches are totally different than the first game. I still expect it to be close.. I say if Bama wins by 14 or less, they share it (LSU gets AP) Just my thoughts. Bama deserves to be there....
  4. I don't think TCU moves up more than 1 spot. Georgia won't drop. OK won't drop far enough, neither will Va Tech. Baylor won and both MSU and Wisc are playing close. I just don't see it.... Clemson will jump over TCU so they need 3 teams to drop lower. Ain't gonna happen unless Va Tech comes back and MSU blows Wisky out of the water and Houston drops a TON.
  5. Looks like Clemson may go to the Orange if they upset Va. Tech
  6. BCS BOWLS Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO January 2, 2012 Pasadena, CA, 5:00 pm ESPN Payout: $36 million Big Ten No. 1 vs. Pac-12 No. 1 Projection: Wisconsin vs. Oregon Buy Rose Bowl Tickets Rationale: Cut and dry. The Wisconsin-Michigan State winner will play Oregon. Tostitos Fiesta Bowl January 2, 2012 Glendale, AZ, 8:30 pm ESPN Big 12 No. 1 vs. BCS Projection: Oklahoma State vs. Stanford Buy Fiesta Bowl Tickets Rationale: The Oklahoma State - Oklahoma winner is the automatic bid, but there's a tiny chance the Cowboys could play for the BCS championship with a blowout over the Sooners. Stanford is a mortal lock with a likely top four final BCS ranking and the draw of Andrew Luck. Allstate Sugar Bowl January 3, 2012 New Orleans, LA, 8:30 pm ESPN SEC No. 1 vs. BCS at-large Projection: Kansas State vs. Michigan Buy Sugar Bowl Tickets Rationale: If Michigan can slip into the top 14 - not a given - it'll be the most attractive at-large team on the lot and would be the Sugar's first pick. If Houston beats Southern Miss in the Conference USA championship, it'll be in New Orleans. If it loses, then Kansas State or Oklahoma State - if the Cowboys lose to Oklahoma - will be here. Discover Orange Bowl January 4, 2012 Miami Gardens, FL, 8:00 pm ESPN ACC No. 1 vs. BCS at-large Projection: Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia Buy Orange Tickets Rationale: There's a mess at the top for the Big East championship, but West Virginia has the best shot - needing to beat South Florida and needing Cincinnati to beat UConn. The ACC championship winner goes here; Virginia Tech is playing far better than Clemson right now. BCS Championship January 9, 2012 New Orleans, LA, 9:00 pm ESPN BCS No. 1 vs. BCS No. 2 Projection: LSU vs. Alabama Buy BCS Championship Tickets Rationale: LSU took care of business with a dominant performance against Arkansas, and Alabama thumped Auburn to flex its muscle a little bit. LSU has beaten three teams this year ranked in the top three - Oregon, Alabama, and Arkansas - and has so much respect that it won't matter what happens against Georgia in the SEC championship. Oklahoma State could make this interesting if it blows away Oklahoma, but Alabama can feel safe at the BCS No. 2 slot.
  7. The SEC can't have more than 2 teams since Georgia lost.(If Georgia had won by 7 and LSU made the MNC, there could be 3 SEC schools) The loss by Houston opens the door wide for Michigan and Kansas State in the Sugar bowl since the loser of MSU and Wisky will be out of the top 14 and both the B1G and Big 12 will then have the max 2 schools in the BCS. Big win for the BCS AQ conferences since Houston lost. Big 12 the biggest beneficiary assuming KSU. No way TCU or Southern Miss has a chance of climbing high enough......
  8. It is so cool that we are using this now. The offense will only get better as Taylor learns to perfect the option(and the diamond) like Frost did in '96 with the option. 96 was a tough year while he learned, though....
  9. University of no Knowledge. You also can't spell DrUNK without "UNK" Go Lopers!!!!!!!
  10. Good analogy. Last year at the Big 12 Champ game, there were a few OK fans behind my son and I that threatened me because we were cheering too loud. I will never take it to stereotype every OK fan as bad. Most of em are the best fans in college football. I will still always root for OK unless they play us..... Thanks for the analogy. Bob D is the best coach of all time!!!! Glad we stole him from em, otherwise this board may have never been as cool as it is.
  11. The internet WAS AROUND in 1995!!! Some of you are too young to know that. Funny...
  12. If run correctly, that would be a wicked offense given that kind of speed and the number of things you could do. I have a feeling that the year of Brion red shirting has done wonders for him like it did for T-Magic. I think a traditional power-I with Turner and Carnes lined up at receiver could be crazy, too. Obviously we wouldn't line up that way all the time but it could give defenses fits since they may not have studied much film on those two...
  13. I agree. In fact, If you look at head to head competition, we pretty much handled the line of scrim even in the Callahan "lean years" when playing teams like Michigan in the bowl game. Missouri didn't get dominated by Northwestern in the Alamo bowl I saw live, either. Ill contrived stuff. They are all bought into the system. Bo seriously reminds me of Parcells in a way because he understands that character is VERY important to your team. It only takes a few bad players(talented guys with bad attitudes and ego issues) to jack with the morale of the whole. He recruits that way and WILL get rid of guys if they cause problems. T-Mart included... Nuff said, I say we can surprise if we show any of the form we had against K-state, Mizzou and okie state. If T-Mart stays healthy and we can be balanced, that D will be rested and firing on ALL cylinders. We haven't had a well rested D since 1997...
  14. If we're going to more of a running offense, which everybody thinks we are, that should fare better in the cold. Nebraska plays cold weather football in November anyways, and Lincoln is really not much further south than most of the schools in the Big Ten. Lincoln is actually further north than Columbus. Furthermore, do people really think that the Big 12 didn't have offensive lineman? The Big 12 was not the MWC, it had 3 national champions in the same amount of time that the Big Ten had only two, and that was with a tougher path (conference championship game) to the BCS. In 2010, the Big 12 had 2 offensive linemen and 2 defensive lineman drafted in the top 6 players of the draft. The Big Ten did have 3 linemen drafted in the first round, but they went at 13, 23, and 28. Speaking of which, those were the only three Big Ten players drafted in the first round, while the Big 12 had 9. In 2011, the Big 12 had 4 linemen drafted in the first round. The Big Ten had 6. Those were all 6 of the Big Ten players drafted in the first round, while the Big 12 added on 4 more skill position players. People should stop pretending that there's some physicality or talent gap between the Big 12 and the Big Ten. There isn't, it doesn't exist. Those who think it does are going to be shocked at just how physical Nebraska is, especially on the defensive line and in the secondary.
  15. Sidetracks is an absolute requirement if you want the "Lincoln Husker experience", Of course you have to be there the night before the game for that. After the game, Barry's is always a good choice. Lots of local celebrities/press and such in there.
  16. The strangest place I have ever watched a Husker game was at Baylor in 2009. Cody Green played most of the game and the stadium was more than half red. The stadium probably only had 30,000 fans in it. We bought random tickets but were able to sit in the very front row in the end zone. Of course that is unheard of at Memorial stadium so it was strange. During the 3rd quarter we were up something like 17-0 when the really weird part started. Someone started doing our cheers in the stadium. HUSKER!!!! POWER!!!! Then it got a little crazier. We started doing the WAVE in Baylor's stadium. Can you imagine another team coming to Memorial and doing loud cheers and the wave! Talk about strange. I will never forget it. Also went to the Texas A&M game last year. Pretty loud. Bad officiating seen first hand on one pass interference that wasn't (on us) and one that was (on them) that didn't get called. The Big 12 championship vs. OK was uneventful.
