  1. The neck is the best part, although with Bo apparently cooling down his temperament this might have to be one of our fond memories.
  2. Can I go with? Sure but I have a full car so you will have to be a follow vehicle. We will make sure to stay out of the way of the TIC ,Dominator and research guys.
  3. I am fully prepared to exit the game and start chasing. But just warning ya, first chase of the season for me so I am gonna be a bit rusty. I knew I should have hit up a skywarn session before I left MPLS. As I say this we are driving througha patch of cloudsdeveloping extremely low.gonna get interesting in a hurry today.
  4. As I understood backpackes dont make it in so I have never tried and I usually just use a drawstring bag. I have my dslr every year and have never been turned away with my sigma 70-300 lens, if that helps.
  5. Here are some great husker charicatures (there are about 5, plus random others) that I thought I would share to pass the time before all of our spring game anxiety overwhelms us all. I thought the Pelini one was hilarious. NOTE: I do stuff like this myself but these are not mine. http://imoreland.cghub.com/images/

  7. This may be very close to what you were thinking? Although the skull rotated like it is in the helmet, right? Courtesy: Bohacekarts Flickr He's got quite a few images of airbrushed helmets he has produced.
  8. That is amazing. Target Field in Minneapolis is going on its 3rd year in completed form (about 5 since the start of construction) and TCF Bank Stadium is going on its 4th football season (almost 6 years since construction started) and Google still shows them as parking lots. That is...unless you go down to bird's eye view or street view, then they show up.
  9. Part of the Nebraska allure is tradition, and there are a ton of people who are stomping around because of this. Let's think about this realistically - Nebraska hasn't been in the national title hunt - legitimately - for over a decade. Sticking to tradition and remembering who you are is important, but thinking about the future is just as crucial. Nobody is going to pick a school simply because of their uniforms. But, whether we like it or not, athletes (especially the ones today) are interested in this kind of thing. I've talked to a couple of players here and they love the idea of alt uniforms because they wear the same thing week in, and week out, and then they have to look at Oregon who has awesome uniform changes every week. I brought this example up earlier - if you went to a Catholic school, you had a uniform every day. I'm sure it was awesome when casual Friday came around, no? It's sort-of the same principle. It's one game - it's one uniform - and, for all we know, one time. It's not going to hurt anything, AND it will appeal to recruits who think Nebraska is full of 60+ year-old fans who complain about getting away from tradition all the time. I think it can be appealing if it still looks like Nebraska out there on the field. I think if it looks like Texas Tech or Iowa State or if it just doesn't look like Nebraska, it'll just be embarrassing, and it'll demonstrate as clearly as ever that Nebraska has lost its identity. I kid you not, you send Nebraska out in black uniforms only to get blown out by Michigan or Wisconsin wearing their traditional colors, and you'll never find another moment more symbolic of how the program has regressed since its glory days. It's just one game - but if it's a big game, big enough for College Gameday or for it to at least be a national story - then the whole country watches it play out and takes in that symbolism. I think the risk is greater than the reward. Again - I don't have problems with minor changes to the uniforms. But Michigan doesn't change their color scheme. Neither does Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, or USC. Oregon changes their color scheme, and as much as it has worked for them, they back up their flash with tremendous substance in their facilities and on the field, and they're still second-fiddle to USC in their own conference. This makes sense, however, people will find a way to compare whatever the new look is, to something that currently exists that that individual happens to not "like". I have seen my away look pop up in many online forums to similar responses: "Holy hell those are AWESOME!" or "Those are the most grotesque things I have EVER SEEN"...which are clearly exaggerations because no one in a web forum really gives their true opinion amirite? But really some people were making some real loooooongshot comparisons to teams. Sadly, I can only think of Texas Tech and the Cleveland Browns right off hand, the others were pretty ridiculous from what I remember though.
  10. I agree. In defense of my stuff that has been showing up...All the images I have created that show up here (Wyoming game pic with black pants/masks, Rex in black or dark gray home top/mask) were created during the black uni-hype from last year, which I believe would have only resulted in a simple color swap/same design as reflected in the images. So when they pop up around here with regards to this story, the look should be taken with a grain of salt. That in mind anything I ever drew up is thrown out the window without some modern style changes in the least, a la Denver Broncos or Cincinatti Bearcats striping on the sides, Oregon or even the new Seattle Seahawks looks. Adding to what you said...Now I am no design major (I have a Meteorology degree) but with all the black showing up in new places, or as Uni-Watch.com likes to say "Black for Black Sake", I get the feeling that black is currently considered to be very futuristic in the way it is being used. Also, the Ducks Chrome domes from the bowl game last year came off very futuristic style-wise and I think the matte finish helmets add a similar, yet slightly lesser effect. So I feel that will be a mainstay for a while. In the scenario of the upcoming season I am okay with them testing the waters for one game (black unis, matte finish helmets, etc). However, I am not a good enough designer to come up with a good futuristic look nor would i want to because of the many, many crazy ways it could really turn out. And then when TO says they won't be too over the top style wise, I trust they won't be over the top. That's my two cents.
  11. There is always this look...http://nextgenuniforms.com/collegiate/big-ten/#
  12. I was actually going to draw up a look (or two or ten) with a red helmet tonight, with those specifically in mind. Had a few ideas, just hope they turn out well.
  13. Here are a couple more. There are other's in the works still, these just came as a result of posting the first pair. 14. Alright everyone, here are the first two. The others are still in development, hopefully still to be completed in the next couple of weeks at the latest. First up is the "Legend of the BoNEyard" piece. Hope it lives up to what was dreamt up in The BoNEyard thread. 15. This may be a bit early but with the spring game around the corner and a full winter of ideating, I couldn't resist. I put together some desktop wallpapers for the 2012 season that I intend to release relatively soon. Hopefully, I can get all of them all finished and posted in the next week or two. If anyone has ideas for something they would like to see, throw them out there. I will pull ones I think I can work with (I'm not exactly a pro) and try to pump out a couple extra. And if I can't, I think it will help others working on their own 2012 wallpapers. Never know, throw something out there and see if it sticks. My new (currently finished) ones surround the Blackshirts, more specifically the logo and a topic once discussed in the main forum called "The BoNEyard". I could do individual requests but I think I will shut the door on that up front. That can get pretty overwhelming. I will lurk the sigs pages and help there when possible. Also, would anyone happen to have or be able to find a very good quality, high/full res photo of someone(s) throwin' bones? I have an idea that may or may not work out. Depends on how well I can execute the idea. Here is a link to some of the stuff I have done in the past and posted around here. And below are the two wallpapers I have posted.
  16. I am not so sure we are going to have to worry about this for too long. Last I heard, Wisconsin was considering dropping Adidas after the major allegations about the working rights/conditions in Indonesia. That was a few weeks ago so maybe some of the Badgers fans might have newer information. I didn't hear anything about Nebraska with relation to the issue. For all intents and purposes, here are some I have drawn up, with one shown below. Some of you may be tired of seeing it by now but its here. If someone has a look and wants me to work something up, provide the picture you want used and I can work on it. I wouldn't mind an alternate look. Black for black sake is common and considering the Huskers already use it elsewhere I am not opposed to it making an appearance in football.
  17. Linked is an interesting article regarding the relationship between Nike, Oregon and their uniforms. http://www.sbnation....l-nike-uniforms It isn't really groundbreaking material but there is some interesting information there that many may have not known/considered/ included in the relationship. As a fan who follows uni changes through places like www.Uni-Watch.com, I tend to find Uni related topics/issues interesting even though they generally get shunned (shunned may be a light term considering some of the implied "Gay" references) around here by many...see any, of the many Huskers Black Uni threads. I think it is inevitable (after all the Huskers uni has actually changed a lot over the years) and can be just as "captivating" of a conversation as any of the many "Fire Pelini" threads.
  18. This and the ball is hanging in the air so long, that a good quick/fast defender has extra time to make up any lost distance if out of position.
  19. IF the Huskers were to change up uniforms I kind of like this. Even the black face mask. I wonder what a black jersey with white or maybe red pants would look like. Can someone photo shop those combos to see what it would look like? I like these also. Not sure what everybody else thought, but I read that article interviewing this one "jersey guru" and I just have very conflicting views from him. He said we should go back to normal jersey material instead of adidas stretchy fabric... Screw that! that subtle little changes makes our jerseys look so sweet this year for some reason, and not sure if anyone sees this as well: the white jerseys are a lot whiter than in years' past. LOVE IT!!! This. AND, the fabric/color used on the red pants has changed in the past few years to better match the red on the away jersey numbers and helmet red. That drove me nuts for a while.
  20. What is this from? I don't remember ever seeing these unis. It's just a really well-done Photoshop. Yes, it is. I made it. Some of my friends asked for the look, I posted it on my Flickr for them, then posted it here during the "black uni hoopla" to give people ideas of looks. Its in the original black uniform thread along with some other versions I made. Some of the players got wind of the looks, liked them and started tweeting them and as usual the "photoshop" part was left out and people started thinking they were real. But alas, they are a creation of my mind and photoshop. Oops, no....wait...I don't know where they came from. Looks real to me.
  21. I have to say, when I saw the first promo for Up, this comparison instantly popped into my head.
  22. This is giving me some awesome "Bone Yard"/Blackshirt design ideas. Look for something soon.
  23. Huskers Authentic carries the polos and I am pretty sure they had the long sleeved shirts at one point as well. Been a while since I was on that site so I am unsure of the current availability. I also saw them on another Husker Store type website but can't think of which one at the moment. Will try to dig around and see if I can find them later.
